Mine was Disney's Peter Pan. I was six. I really wanted to be Wendy, and asked my dad on the way out "How old is Wendy?" He replied "About ten, I think." I was really cross with him! Smile

The first two films I saw - which from their dates must have been when I was five - were The Sound of Music (I remember being scared in one scene at the end when they're escaping) and A Man for All Seasons. I'd been warned how it ends so I wasn't shocked, and I seem to remember enjoying the rest of the film.

Short Circuit 2.when I was 9. I was staying over at a friend's house and her mum dropped us off and we went in alone. I felt so grown up.

I think it was Bambi - with my dad and brother. It was dark when we got in. I did not realise you had to put the seat down , plus I thought I was sitting on someone's lap and was too shy to do anything about it. My dad laughed when the lights went up and said he thought I was a bit high! I could not enjoy the film because of my embarrassment (why I thought someone would sit there quietly while someone sat in their lap I do not know - unless they were are soft as I was!!!)

I very vaguely remember seeing Disney’s Snow White as a young child - apparently the movie is from 1937 but must have been a reason why it was in the cinema again.
I remember so many great Disney movies coming out when I was a child but I think we saw most of them when they were available on VHS.

Snow White in the late 70's with cousins and aunt/uncle.

Then another aunt took me to see Return of The Jedi in 1983 (hadn't seen Star Wars and waited years to find out what happened to Han Solo when TESB came onto TV).

My parents never took us to the cinema, so I didn't go regularly until I was a teenager in the mid 80's, and then older friends took me and then it was all Back To the Future, Police Academy, Beverley Hills Cop etc.

I saw more films in the mid-late 80's than any other decade.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles in 1990. I was 4 and went with my family and my favourite cousins family. I don't remember much except eating fruit pastilles and being excited that my cousin was with me.

I think it was The Rescuers, which was out in June 1977 so I would have been 6

Supersocks, I think they showed old films much more than they do now because Disney used to "lock films in the vault". - So, if you missed the video release the first time round you could be waiting years to see it again.

I have just looked on the website of a local cinema though, as this thread makes me want to go and watch a film. They are showing Free Willy, on Saturday. This is a film from 1993....Not sure that's going to get much interest. I don't understand!

Joker, a couple of years ago

My Little Pony, I remember it was really sad and it really upset me! The second film I remember seeing was arachnophobia, when I was about 7! No wonder I'm terrified of spiders 🤣 spent half the film hid behind my hands, we were right near the front as well!

Is it the early morning screening? Our local cinema shows old kids films at 10am on Saturday and Sunday for just £2 a ticket. Always a nice cheap outing if you’re bored and they are always packed, even if the films are a bit crap.

lapasion, yes it's on at 10am. I've just got the schedule but without any prices. If the tickets are likely to be a couple of pounds a ticket that makes a lot more sense.
