Mine was Disney's Peter Pan. I was six. I really wanted to be Wendy, and asked my dad on the way out "How old is Wendy?" He replied "About ten, I think." I was really cross with him! Smile

Apparently it was The Care Bears movie.
The first one I remember going to see was California Man.

NameChangeNymph · 13/02/2022 20:51

My Girl 😃

HarrietSchulenberg · 13/02/2022 20:52

Dumbo with my mum and grandma when I was about 3 or 4. They suddenly realised, one afternoon, that I'd never been to the pictures so they popped my coat on and nipped me up the road to the Odeon. I remember them telling me about what was going to happen, that it would get dark and the curtains would open and then the film would play on a big screen. It was the last days of usherettes and I was amazed that a woman was wandering round with a neck tray and a little light, selling little tubs of ice cream. I didn't really like ice cream but they bought me one anyway, just to show me the tub and the little wooden spoon to eat it. I think they scoffed it between them as I didn't like it.

Nosetickle · 13/02/2022 20:52

Free Willy! I cried.

Bibbitybobbityboo86 · 13/02/2022 20:53

The little mermaid. My mum won tickets and I was given a book. My mum had to take me outside for a right telling off cause I wouldn’t stop talking 🙊

MaebeaorNot · 13/02/2022 20:53

ET - with my lovely Dad. He wept buckets and had to get his big hankie out!

tokyo1 · 13/02/2022 20:54

The truman show Grin I was totally confused

Noluthando · 13/02/2022 20:55

Snow White , then the next one was ET. I don't remember much but my mum said I was scared and upset at ET. It's my favourite film now but I can't watch it if I'm feeling fragile.

Midnightstar76 · 13/02/2022 20:57

ET I was about 5/6 years old loved it

Porfre · 13/02/2022 20:57

Shakespeare in love.

I think I was in year 9 or 10 we'd gone with school. Had never been before that.

Also didnt have first McDonalds til I was over 16.

ghostmouse · 13/02/2022 20:58

Transformers the original one and I must have been around 8 or 9

myjumperisbetterthenyours · 13/02/2022 20:59

A little princess. Still one of my all time favourite movies. I would have been 3 at the time

ItsSnowJokes · 13/02/2022 21:01

ET and then 101 Dalamations that they re-released.

SkankingMopoke · 13/02/2022 21:01

Beauty and the Beast - the animated version, obviously! Seen in Leicester Square with my Dad and Granny, as there was no way he would countenance going to the regular local cinema like normal mortals. We lived in Oxfordshire at the time.

Daisychainsandglitter · 13/02/2022 21:06

Beethoven. I was 7 and was so excited. I remember the getting some popcorn and a huge coke and I really thought I was the bees knees!

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 13/02/2022 21:08

The Journey of Natty Gann with my father. Think I would have been 6. Must watch it again!

Think next one was Labyrinth. Still one of my favourites!

weebarra · 13/02/2022 21:09

ET. It was DH's too.

jimmyreckon · 13/02/2022 21:09

On my own, ghostbusters

With my Dad, Star Wars - don't think we went for me...

dudsville · 13/02/2022 21:09

I'd have to check the dates but I remember ET, For Your Eyes Only (age inappropriate!), Kramer V Kramer, Gremlins, Rocky.

Skeam · 13/02/2022 21:12

The Rescuers. I was five and scared of bits of it.

Kalettesarethebest · 13/02/2022 21:14

Fantasia with my mum in town. We got the bus in and sat at the front of the top deck (I’d never been on a bus before so was very excited) She bought me a coat that I still remember the feel and look of (I must have been about 5 or 6, late 70’s)
I have an older sister so going on a trip alone with my mum was a rare treat.

AdaColeman · 13/02/2022 21:14

Fantasia ~ I was transfixed!
I was about 7, so it would have been one of the film’s many rereleases. We saw it in a tiny rickety old cinema, it was incredibly exciting!

Diablo2 · 13/02/2022 21:16

@Drywhitefruitycidergin

The Care Bear Movie
Me too, I'd have been about 7. My brother was about 6 - he wasn't impressed Grin
