Mine was Disney's Peter Pan. I was six. I really wanted to be Wendy, and asked my dad on the way out "How old is Wendy?" He replied "About ten, I think." I was really cross with him! Smile

@Mrsjrewing3

The Jungle Book, the early 1980s. My dad was instructed by mum to take me to the cinema so I could get some peace from my newborn little sister
This was my second film after E.T.!

Babe 🤣🐷

LydiaFTM · 13/02/2022 19:49

Death Becomes Her.

I was only 5/6 but had older sisters. I was terrified at all the bits when body parts came off etc and screamed! Bit of an odd choice by my parents.

HelloKeith · 13/02/2022 19:49

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. Hadn't seen the first film, didn't really know what going on Grin

hugoagogo · 13/02/2022 19:49

The Rescuers, dd fell asleep as per. He really was incapable of staying awake in the cinema.

Cinderella. Must have been about 1986-87. I remember the really long bus journey into the city. I also was about 6, maybe 7.

A few years later and we used to go pretty regularly. We saw all the new Disney films in the early 90s

VariationsonaTheme · 13/02/2022 19:50

Snow White, The Water Babies and The Empire Strikes Back are the earliest ones I remember, along with Annie and ET. Sparked a lifelong love of movies.

ilovepixie · 13/02/2022 19:50

Superman. I was about 9.

RampantIvy · 13/02/2022 19:51

@dementedma

Mary Poppins ( the first version!)
Me too. I remember not being able to get in the first time because it sold out. So we went another day.
schnubbins · 13/02/2022 19:52

The Aristocats .I must have been about five years old and we were at a matinee .

schnubbins · 13/02/2022 19:53

In 1970 I think!

ivykaty44 · 13/02/2022 19:53

@Mabelface

Jungle book in 1974 when I was 4
I also saw the jungle book on my first trip to the cinema - but I don't know how old I was
30not13 · 13/02/2022 19:53

I think it was Aristocats or The Rescuers.

SkepticalCat · 13/02/2022 19:54

Not sure. Possibly the Care Bear Movie, or maybe Snow White when it was re-released.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 13/02/2022 19:55

I was about 4/5 when I was take to see 101 Dalmatians! But it was old then. I also remember going to ET when I was little but had to be taken out as I was terrified.

MintMocha · 13/02/2022 19:55

The "Aristocats" - think it was Disney or something, cartoon anyway. My siblings and I went on our own, and hadn't been to a film before as my mum didn't like them. We panicked when the trailers came on and thought we were in the wrong film, until another mum told us that it was fine and we just had to wait.

ClariceQuiff · 13/02/2022 19:59

Watership Down.

I was mesmerised by it and acted it out with my toy rabbits for weeks afterwards.

Vampirethriller · 13/02/2022 19:59

Disney's Jungle Book, I was about 5 so I think it was 1986 or 7. My grandad took me, we had ice cream in the interval.

PreparationPreparationPrep · 13/02/2022 20:00

Lady and the Tramp !

SartresSoul · 13/02/2022 20:00

Free Willy.

FourTeaFallOut · 13/02/2022 20:00

Was that the trauma coming out? Grin
GeneLovesJezebel · 13/02/2022 20:01

The first one I remember is Star Wars

Squidthing · 13/02/2022 20:03

ET, I remember being terrified at the start. I still love it though - I think it's one of the best films ever.

2anddone · 13/02/2022 20:03

Mary Poppins but I think it was the 10 year anniversary of its release. Also the Care Bears movie and everyone who went got a record of the theme song

balalake · 13/02/2022 20:03

I think it was The Sound of Music, when there was an extra screening. Mum had the soundtrack album and I could probably remember all the songs to this day.
