Mine was Disney's Peter Pan. I was six. I really wanted to be Wendy, and asked my dad on the way out "How old is Wendy?" He replied "About ten, I think." I was really cross with him! Smile

I think it was 'The Adventure of the Wilderness Family'. When we arrived at the cinema, they let us in even though the previous show hadn't finished. So we took our seat in time for the bear attack which was terrifying for a small child. I didn't understand that we were watching the end of the previous film so I had to sit through the bear attack a second time. I'm surprised I ever went back to the cinema.

@LottyD32 I have still got the floppy record somewhere!...So many of us on here watched Care Bears as a first cinema trip

Houseplantmad · 13/02/2022 22:57

Chitty chitty bang bang. And we stood for the national anthem beforehand. There was a pre film and interval and then the main film!

The WORST one I ever saw was Watership Down. My auntie took my cousin and I as a treat. We were traumatised!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/02/2022 00:49

"The worse one I ever saw was watership down."

Same. I'm still traumatised from when one the rabbits got slashed.

Wow, it seems everyone else’s first movie was a classic of some sort.
My first time at the cinema was to see Bill and Teds Excellent adventure. Blush

Mylittlepixie · 14/02/2022 07:28

Bambi at age 6 i think. Although i dont know if it counts because i cried so much when the mum died at the beginning that my mum had to take me home Smile

Mrsjayy · 14/02/2022 08:17

Bill and Ted is a classic !

Pembertonrd · 14/02/2022 08:21

Bambi.
We caught the end of the previous film too which was Zulu. Not sure I should have seen any of that.

I was 6 and my older cousin took me.
Sobbed when Bambi's mother died.

OrangePeppaPig · 14/02/2022 09:52

Casper the friendly ghost. We had special casper T shirts on. It seemed so special. DD's was Toy Story 4 so I got her a Toy Story t shirt to wear. Then when we saw frozen 2 I got her a Frozen top to wear.

OhWhyNot · 14/02/2022 10:09

Watership Down

Have been emotionally scared since the first few bars of Bright Eyes sets me off crying

ninecoronas · 14/02/2022 10:18

The first one I remember is All Dogs Go To Heaven. Definitely not a classic!

HiGunny · 14/02/2022 10:23

It was either The Neverending Story or The Last Unicorn and I was about 4 or 5. I remember being a bit traumatized by both - Neverending Story was very scary and the unicorn might have died in the Last Unicorn?

I also remember going to watch Bambi for my friends birthday and the two of us bawling when Bambi's mother died 😂

Newestname002 · 14/02/2022 10:47

I can't remember the childhood ones, but in my teens it was either Camelot or Sweet Charity. 🌹

FelicityPike · 14/02/2022 10:48

ET.

DoucheCanoe · 14/02/2022 10:52

The Little Mermaid, I was about 3 and have absolutely no memory of this but my Mum told me 😂

I hope my kids never ask me as I can't remember for the life of me what they were!

thecatsinthecradle · 14/02/2022 10:52

I'm pretty sure it was Labyrinth!

OldTinHat · 14/02/2022 11:03

Another one for ET!
