Talk me out of a Velvetiser

My boys both love a hot chocolate.
I DO use gadgets - my soup maker is out at least once a week.
I don't mind wiping it out.
We prefer HC made with milk to water.

But... £100.

Talk me down from this ledge of temptation!

My son got one for Christmas and has used it every day since, so I feel like it was worth it, I've also bought him normal drinking chocolate and that's works fine, as the HC is a little on the pricey side. Treat yourself I say

We have the Smeg frother.. it's my favourite and most used kitchen gadget!
Hot & cold frothy drinks and a separate hot chocolate function.

And it looks pretty.

I bought a refurbished velvetiser on eBay for £50. It arrived in a hotel chocolate box and looked brand new. Just sayin'....

You can get them for £50 direct from HC. Ours was. We have a subscription with it though. That’s why we got it, effectively it’s the same price as a dualit and we’d have bought the pouches anyway

Not read full thread but just to add I love mine! It broke 🥲🥲 hotel chocolate replaced it within 2 days, fantastic customer service 🥰

Do you froth the milk in the frother and mix in cup or mix coffee/choc in frother with milk at start?
I actually read the instructions after having made a delish hot chocolate in the machine and it advises against that. However my kids have told me frothy chocolate foam is delicious and to continue!

I love my Velvetiser. It makes much smoother hot chocolate than the Nespresso Aerocino which is fine for hot milk but doesn’t blend the chocolate sufficiently.
