Beat my wild NYE plans

I have just rushed to Argos to buy a new doormat. I'm now contemplating a takeaway, followed by putting the DC to bed and reading a book on the sofa while DH watches Squid Game.

What does your NYE look like?

The Doritos have been devoured in the same way I imagine a shoal of mutant piranhas would strip a cow down to the bones in 4 minutes. I had a look at a retirement home MIL expressed an interest in. Looks horrible to me but I'm not 73.

I'm in bed, DP brushing his teeth thinking he's going to get lucky but I'll be asleep by the time he comes out of the bathroom.

I went to see & Juliet in theatre! It was amazing.

I’m now sat on my sofa alone, about to go to bed.

We had a really nice lunch out, but tonight has been horrendous with fireworks and the poor cat wedged under the sofa. Classic FM blaring through the TV to try and soothe her. Happy new year, everyone!

Took forever to get baby to sleep... DP slept at 10am... i sat drinking gin doing some uni work...

Sitting here watching Elton John on the telly, listening to a load of fireworks outside and trying to calm down two of our cats, who are rather discombobulated by the noise. The other two are oblivious.

My ds9 decided he wanted to stay up this year. Our party was cancelled due to Covid so we watched Sonic (the film) ate pizza and ice-cream, played some of his Christmas games, pottered in separate rooms for a while then did the count down together and watched the fireworks from my bedroom window.
It was actually a really lovely evening!

I'm spending NYE on my own out of choice. I've just popped out to watch fireworks (I've moved to a hill in London with panoramic views). Loved the optimism and spirit of fun from everyone standing in the street cheering the fireworks and the cars beeping their horns as they passed by. I shed a little tear. I was crying last night but I'd rather hold onto hope for the coming year.
