Beat my wild NYE plans

I have just rushed to Argos to buy a new doormat. I'm now contemplating a takeaway, followed by putting the DC to bed and reading a book on the sofa while DH watches Squid Game.

What does your NYE look like?

Literally back from argos
Bought a throw and new cushion covers (habitat)
I like to freshen things up for new years day.

Can't decide if the impending baby or skirting board painting win

I wish I had something to drink which isn't fizzy (only have beer) as I fancy a cheeky bevvie but too full from.my Chinese takeaway

DH took the kids to a soft play for lunch and I fell asleep.

We’ve watched Ron’s Gone Wrong and I’ve got a home made lasagne in the oven

I'll be at home, with my husband, having a drink and some snacks, listening to some music, later

Sat here repeatedly checking my phone for pcr result, hoping it's negative

Well my washing machine started smoking this evening so I’ll begin the new year by schlepping all my laundry out to my mums at least until Tuesday when I can get a repair man to look at it.

Taking DC’s to the pub as I can’t be arsed to cook and the wait for Chinese last year was long

Other half is at work at 4am tomorrow so he be going bed early and cant really drink. Teenager in room as per norm. Plan a nice bath, vodak and coke and netflix/kindle. Will go our for a meal tomorrow.

I’m at MILs with the kids. DH is supposed to be here but he has Covid. We were gambling on him getting day 6 and 7 negative LFTs so he could join us but it didn’t happen so he’s stuck at home alone. I get on really well with MIL (plus she’s cooking dinner and has got a shitload of booze in) but I miss DH and feel bad for him.

Ds is disabled and loves this programme!

Dishes and hoovering. Ds2 has his mattress down on the living room floor do do wrestling moves, ds1 is on his xbox, dp is sleeping on the couch 🙄, baby is getting whingey. I've also got the hoovering to do. Done loads of washings and changed the beds.
We've all got covid. Was supposed to be having a new year party 😭

I'm a single parent. Currently watching Night at the museum with 8yo DS. We'll probably both be in bed before midnight. I'm in my dressing gown already.

Ah, that's good that the baby won't be naked & have no where but a cardboard box to sleep.

I'm sorry you're in hospital with these worries! I hope everything settles down & baby snuggles in for a bit longer!!

On my own. Just had some pasta, got a glass of Prosecco on the go. Going to watch a movie and then have a bath and go to bed with my book 📖

DP in bed with covid, kids with their dad, was hoping I would have the cat for company but she’s buggered off to bed.

Eating trifle as dinner, reading mumsnet - oh how times have changed!

We are shipping the baby to grandparents tonight and when I suggested we go see a couple we’re both good friends with DH made a face and started moaning about being tired. I know he is tired and that’s totally fair. I’m just finding the prospect of having time to ourselves and him sitting like a grumpy lump on the sofa staring at his phone on NYE pretty grim. (Should say I generally hate NYE & am feeling a bit covid weary + my best friend just moved a plane trip away. So was already sulking!)

We’ve been out for a nice lunch and a couple of drinks today, just back home now for a relaxed evening. I was very glad our local (rural) trains were running ok as I didn’t fancy a fight for a taxi on NYE. I’ve made some home made sausage rolls and pigs in blankets to go in the oven later, we’ll watch some catch up tv in a bit then toast the new year (then straight to bed as we’re out walking tomorrow morning). I am far too old (40) for going out late on NYE these days 😂
