Beat my wild NYE plans

I have just rushed to Argos to buy a new doormat. I'm now contemplating a takeaway, followed by putting the DC to bed and reading a book on the sofa while DH watches Squid Game.

What does your NYE look like?

Dropping Dd and her boyfriend at a party (Dh is on taxi duty to pick them up ) then home for pizza and a glass or two of fizz and will probably catch up with the soaps or watch a film

Cheese board and dough balls followed by tv, wine and knitting whilst DH who doesn’t drink has one bru and plays solitaire on his phone

Wild party tines

Just drinking the last of the mulled wine now, waiting for a Chinese to be delivered. Will be in bed way before midnight.

Going to clean out the fish tank in a bit. My 17-year-old is going to her first proper teenage party at her mate's house, so I have decided to stay at home in case of upsets and an early reappearance from her.
I normally loathe the idea of nothing to do on NYE (have never had any patience with people who say Oh get some nice snacks and wine - I can do that any fucking time.)
But I am also skint, and no one has invited me anywhere. And I would rather be on hand for the teenager. And I will be seeing my mates on Sunday (as long as I don't suddenly up and test positive for Covid.)

Setting off to work the night shift in 30 mins. No idea where I'll be at midnight!
Looking forward to driving waaaaay out of my way to collect DS from his Dad's on my way home from work - he's been away for 2 nights and it feels like a month!

Twitch rave starting at 9pm to early morning

Had a Japanese takeaway box from M and S washed down with with a Port and Ginger ale at home. Will shortly be going over to the eldest DS and his family to see in the new year with a few glasses of bubbly and whatever games my 5 yr granddaughter makes us play :-)

Ex H just turned up and asked to take 2 teens 'until about 10pm'. We didn't have any other plans (they have ASD). It's only the 3rd time has 'had them over for tea' in the 6m since he moved 10m away, (the lazy sod) so it has novelty value I guess - anyway they wanted to go so I'd hardly say no. Too late for me to arrange anything now (thanks, exH!) so I'll prob have a long bath, some wine and cook something they wouldn't normally eat. Then I might put Netflix on, woo hoo!

Playing Monopoly with the family and then watching some films, maybe Harry Potter again. Actually enjoying the chilled evening

Covid all round so everyone in pyjamas drinking tea .

I'm home alone, clothes, floors & dishes all washed & just washed my hair, so nothing needs washing tomorrow, bins & recycling all emptied, so nothing needs to go out tomorrow.

Just had tea egg and chips h had chips I didn’t with pigs in blankets left over from Christmas (in freezer) and now used. Stranger Things all night for me Big Ben at 12 I start the count down at 1201 for s4.

NYE plans CXLD here due to our hosts and some of the other guests having Covid, so nice dinner and TV for us!

DH just changed the washer on the tap and I unblocked the shower. Going in for Worlds Strongest Man, a glass of champagne and a music documentary.

Awww That sounds lovely!!

Ate pizza with the dc and counting down to bedtime... my 6yo has been explaining the plot to a (20 minute) episode of a dope she's been watching for the last 30 minutes and I'm honestly afraid she'll still be going at midnight.

When they are asleep me and dh will watch some supernatural (maybe... we're on season 15 and im not ready to say goodbye to the boys 😭), eat cheese and have a few drinks before I inevitably fall asleep by 10.

I'm on my own as the dc are out with friends, and DH is playing in a band at some private function or other.

So I shall probably spend the evening clearing out and reorganising the kitchen cupboards. If it all gets too exciting, I might have to have a bath to calm down.

We’ve had dinner, I have wine and nice crisps and going to watch crap all night.

Thankfully BILs household has covid so he can’t do his usual NY guilt we don’t go to his party. We’ve never been, it sounds shit. People always leave at 10 and then he rings us to complain (esp as we aren’t there as we would be compelled to stay till midnight). They are terrible hosts so I’m nit surprised.
