Stolen the idea from
Another thread. I wanted a Mr Frosty, but never got one. Apparently my parents says I never asked at Christmas or birthdays. (I did have an A la cart kitchen though.)

I drew a circle round one in all the argos catalogues we got, but never got it.

Cantstopthewaves · 21/10/2021 15:00

I loved that kitchen. It was my favourite thing ever as a child.
I also had Mr Frosty (sorry!).
The thing I REALLY wanted as a small child was that big yellow teapot.
There was one at playgroup and I wanted one so, so much. My Mum said it was rubbish.

BogRollBOGOF · 21/10/2021 15:00

My best friend had one. She always got the cool stuff.

I did have a Big Yellow Teapot though!

Itistimeforquiche · 21/10/2021 15:01

I had a friend who had one and it was all sticky and disgusting. Maybe she did it wrong !

Siriisatwat · 21/10/2021 15:02

Ha! Me too.

I finally bought myself one from argos a few years ago. It was SHIT.

My parents used to buy me presents and then not let me have them. I had to keep them in a box and “save” them because one day they might be worth something. So 80s things like when kids cameras first came out, all my friends had one on school trips - mine was in a box in the loft being “saved”. So many gifts like that.

My dad has dementia now and I am clearing out his house to move him near me. All those boxes of presents that would have given me such joy as a child? Worth fucking pennies on ebay, it’s not worth buying the tape to package them if they sold. All gone to the charity shop. It made me so sad.

So did I. It never arrived. Sad
FluffEverywhere · 21/10/2021 15:03

I had a big yellow teapot!

No Mr Frosty though.. considering buying my own this year

Zarene · 21/10/2021 15:03

I wanted a FunFax (like a Filofax for tweens, cos it was the 90s).

My parents got me the Junior FunFax, which clearly at 8ish I was FAR too grown up for. I was genuinely devastated.

I have a pic of me with that big yellow teapot though, so o clearly wasn't totally neglected.

Oh I had the big yellow teapot.

I also really wanted the thing that dispensed chocolates, think it was Bournville, funnily enough I didn't get that either 😂

Etinoxaurus · 21/10/2021 15:03

This is a very excluding thread.
Where’s the support for those of us who didn’t get a Girl’s World?

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 21/10/2021 15:04

Can I join? I always wanted a Mr Frosty, my older brother got one that I was strictly not allowed to touch.

So close to my dream, yet so far!

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 21/10/2021 15:04

I’m still sad about not getting one over 30 years later. My cousin got one but they didn’t let me play with it 😭

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2021 15:04

I had a big yellow tea pot. I was gobsmacked to discover my parents had kept it, when they gave it back to me a few years ago!

GreyCarpet · 21/10/2021 15:04

I wasn't allowed one either.

I did have a Petite typewriter and the Family Tree House though.

Finfintytint · 21/10/2021 15:04

I wanted Katie Kopycat and her magic desk. I never got it. Fifty odd years of disappointment Grin

FuzzyPenguin · 21/10/2021 15:04

This thread makes me smile, funny how we all didn’t get the same toy! Every year I asked and always no. I hope whoever did the marketing for the Mr Frosty was paid well they did their job well.

rookiemere · 21/10/2021 15:04

I bought myself one from the charity shop a few years ago but never used it and my friend said the drinks tasted weird when she did get one so it went back unused to the charity shop.

Siriisatwat · 21/10/2021 15:05

I wanted an a la cart kitchen but does anyone remember the commercial where the little girl “cooked” a cake and served it with cold baked beans to her dad? Put me right off Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2021 15:05

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee that's just mean!

FuzzyPenguin · 21/10/2021 15:06

Yes just seen the fun fax post which appear after I posted, was never allowed that either

MrsRobbieHart · 21/10/2021 15:06

I drew a picture of a flying machine so Santa could show his elves what to build. Never got it Sad

I did have the yellow teapot though. Think that inspired my love of all things property. I used to build all sorts of wonderful houses out of cardboard. Should have been an architect.

ReiltinDubh · 21/10/2021 15:08

Me neither Sad Eternally disappointed over that! Did have a big yellow teapot though.

Goawayangryman · 21/10/2021 15:09

Oh I need to join! Things I coveted but never got: that tree house thing with the green plastic canopy; of course, Mr frosty; soda stream; that tank thing that was around in about 1982 which had elementary programming buttons to make it go forward/ backward a certain number of moves.

I did get a pc when I was about 10 though, when they were very expensive relative to wages and we were not rich at all. That was awesome. Spent hours doing little programmes and then running them from the cassette player 🤣. And then my best ever present - a double decker ghetto blaster to copy tapes from the library showing my age

brokenbiscuitsx · 21/10/2021 15:09

I didn’t ever get one, but I did get this and it was awesome ☺️

Didn't get a Mr Frosty Support thread.
