When did Geri halliwell become so posh?

Just followed her on Instagram, she has completely transformed.. Stunning country home, extremely posh accent... She's turned into a stepford wife... She looks incredible!

On the subject of accents, @TooSpotty, I remembered something yesterday when someone suggested GH had had elocution lessions.

I remember when I was about 11/12 some friends at WGGS complaining about the pretentiousness of having to learn ballroom dancing (very uncool in the 80s) in PE and elocution. I'm guessing that may have been hyperbole and what they actually meant was LAMDA speech and drama type classes, reciting poetry or something. Did you do anything like that at WGGS?!!

That’s funny. I didn’t do anything like that at all but I’m quite a bit younger and arrived shortly after they abandoned much of the trappings of an old-fashioned grammar school. It was a comprehensive for quite a long time before they gave up pretending we were posher than we were. So they probably caught the tail end of all that.

My own reason for thinking Geri is a bit of a cow come from her naming several teachers in her ‘autobiography’ and making personal comments about them (eg one having a very big bust). That was unnecessary and caused a lot of upset.

Don’t be ridiculous- I doubt Emma Bunton was a baby either. And Melanie C wasn’t that sporty either - she was anorexic. That was just marketing. Jeez.

She has grown up and like most of us fitted in to those we spend time with

She was always well spoken but her accent is more clipped now she was brash when younger but then she was a pop star she has matured

I think it's weird.

Is it a big deal. My DM usually says 'your dad' when referring to my father in front of me, but sometimes forgets that and refers to him by his first name. What's the big deal?

She looks a bit like Jenny in Coronation Street. And she isnt posh.
