When did Geri halliwell become so posh?

Just followed her on Instagram, she has completely transformed.. Stunning country home, extremely posh accent... She's turned into a stepford wife... She looks incredible!

A London accent doesn't equate with well spoken! She just sounds like a Londoner, not an eastender type, just normal.

Why was Posh Spice called 'Posh'? Was it an in joke or something? Because she has always sounded very un-posh to me in a completely normal way. Was it supposed to indicate 'Elegant' or 'Aloof' or 'Shy' or something?
I think it was Smash Hits who gave them the nicknames. and was based on her perceived elegance and aloofness rather than anything from Burke's Peerage!

In fairness, Geri has always been very well-spoken.

Billie Piper really did adopt a plummy, thespier voice.

There's a clip of her hosting some sort of makeover show in the early 90s, where they pluck some poor sod off the street and dress them. She's very well-spoken in that, and always was in interviews. There's no such thing as a 'London' accent 🙄

I just had a nose at her IG. She seems to be having a lovely life. And she loves white clothes 😂

She was always quite well spoken, unlike Victoria.

Geri is minted in her own right! She looks great. Her husband is away for a lot of the year with Red Bull Racing so that must be stressful (depending on how you look at it) We call him Christian Moaner in our house Grin

Yeah, and got fuck-all stick for it. She sounded every inch the working-class Swindoner in all her 'Smash Hits'-type interviews; twenty years on and she sounds plummier than the Fox family themselves. Ludicrous.

How is there no such thing as a London accent? There may be regional vacancies but that's like arguing there's no such thing as a Scottish accent. Unless you believe people brought up in London have no accent and everyone else talks funny?

She reminds me a lot of Liz Hurley. Not sure why. Possibly just both are women of the same age who have a lot of money and no fucks to give. I'm sure if I was a multi millionaire with no need to prove myself to anyone then I would end up rolling about in white clothes or chiffon ball gowns and taking photos. I would have so much more fun and care not a jot what anyone thought.

The photos remind me of the time the working-class father of my childhood best friend made a lot of money, bought a big Victorian house with an acre of garden and a games room, and started dressing in Barbour and tweeds to walk their newly-acquired black labs around the garden. He also took early-morning golf lessons and sent his wife to etiquette classes so they could host dinners for his more socially-elevated business associates.

It was exhausting even watching.
