Things you enjoy which are supposed to be terrible

I'm inspired by a thread about ""Nice" Things That Aren't Actually Nice" over on the AIBU board.

I'd love to know about things you (secretly or not-so-secretly) love which you're "supposed" to find dull, inconvenient, or just plain crap.

For me: the cheapest tinned vegetables, replacement bus services (nicer view sometimes!), Travelodges.

Very weak tea

I had an MRI scan on the hottest day of the year. Being in an air conditioned tube was BLISS.

Instant mash with tinned tomatoes 🙈🤣
Having a reactive rescue dog ... don't always want to chat rubbish for ten mins ( I blame the depression or maybe I'm just moody )

Actually, all of us working and busy mums enjoying a dentist visit or MRI scan as a bit if me-time is kind of sad, if you think about it…

I always feel as if I’m having a luxury facial when I go the hygienist… how sad is that

Crime Documentary’s - scare the life out of me but very fascinating

Sweet and sour pork from a bog standard takeaway. I love the orange sauce, the tinned pineapple and the crispy balls of fatty pork. I haven't had it for years (always dieting or should be) and just thinking about it is making me drool.

Ironing. I love the smell and the hiss of the iron and warmth and the fact that you can watch TV while doing it.

When I really fancy cake but can’t be bothered to make one/go out and buy one I just make some butter icing in a bowl as a snack 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Pontins! Now the place is a dive. However me, my fella and teenagers go once a year to reconnect. Just spend 3 days playing board games, getting tipsy and having a laugh at the croc crew! If u can get past the filth I’d recommend it!

I love watching MMA (mixed martials arts) watch UFC every weekend and am now nearly an expert on all the different martials arts. like jui jitsu, kick boxing etc. Started watching with my son a few years ago and didn't like at first as was fairly intense but has been a bonding thing with my son and we have great craic watching it.

I LOVE angel delight also, reminds me of childhood. Also Flan on a sunday filled with jam, tinned fruit and cream and choc sprinkled on top. the flan used to get soo soggy but it was lovely.

Surgery. A whole 24 hours away from the family. Breakfast in bed followed by a week in bed sleeping with no house work. It was worth the scar! Also loved the opiates I was put on post surgery. Fentanyl is fabulous!

I’ve had gallbladder surgery in August and more recently fell from my bike, broke my arm and have had plate and pins in. Previously I’ve had a hysterectomy and arthroscopy on my knee. So I’m no stranger!

Generally yes I love surgery, and certainly get why junkies love fentanyl! It’s great! I actually enjoyed being in hospital post hysterectomy and was disappointed when I was discharged!

However I’m hating every bloody moment of the broken arm surgery and recovery because I’m in so much pain and dihydrocodeine is only doing so much. It’s my right arm so am limited to what I can do, can’t do an crafty stuff. Bored bored bored and in pain. So agree most of the time but not this time.
