Locked in a shop overnight.

If you were locked in a shop overnight ( by yourself and in no danger )
Which type of shop would you choose ?
Mine would 100% be a bookshop . Even better if it had somewhere to make a coffee / tea.
My idea of heaven.

Liberty - I would be in heaven! I would try all the clothes on, slather myself in gorgeous cosmetics and then snooze on a pile of silken scarves.

CosmicComfort · 29/09/2021 18:55

An enormous wool shop like Woolful where I can liberate a crochet hook and sample all the different yarns🤗

viques · 29/09/2021 19:04

@Jeannie88

Can it be a zoo or an animal sanctuary? 🤔
You can pay to be locked in London Zoo for the night, you stay in a chalet( hut) , but you aren’t allowed to wander around on your own. Apparently in the morning you hear the gibbons whoop. I am half thinking of it as a treat to myself for my next birthday .

@NurseMumMe

Waterstones with a costa…., but overnight wouldn’t be long enough .,. A weekend please
The big Waterstones near Piccadilly has a proper bar/ restaurant on the top floor, and a couple of coffee places. Unfortunately the bar is closed for a refurb atm , as I found out today when I tried to go there before going to the RA.
Chipperfish · 29/09/2021 19:14

Ikea or similar but only if I could have some friends and Nerf guns with me

mellicauli · 29/09/2021 19:16

John Lewis in Oxford Street ..amazing food department, decent coffee shop, comfy beds/sofas, try out all the beauty stuff, clothes theneverything in the tech department. Maybe start a thread on Mumsnet..I am stuck in John Lewis AMA...

neekeem · 29/09/2021 19:16

A Pizza Hut. I have always wanted to use their stuff to make a pizza with a proportion of toppings like I want and to cook it till it's actually done in the way I prefer.

Oink!

PineappleRage · 29/09/2021 19:17

Boring but a supermarket, I love looking at all the random ingredients but hate how busy they are, I'd like the night to mooch in silence, no radio blasting, no people!

Grumpasaurus · 29/09/2021 19:17

Depends do we get to take home what we use in the morning?

ThistleTits · 29/09/2021 19:39

@LaTomatina

IKEA! Especially if I had access to the cafe as well as the showroom.
I always feel as if I have been in IKEA for weeks, when leaving.
essexvicky · 29/09/2021 19:40

Harrods it has everything

Ellmau · 29/09/2021 19:45

M&S.

Bed, food and most importantly, clean underwear.

gailplattshairbrush · 29/09/2021 19:46

I always liked the idea of being trapped in a mall/shopping centre like in the zombie apocalypse films. Literally everything you need and so much to do.

peppermintpat · 29/09/2021 19:56

Selfridges London, it has everything!

Bloodybridget · 29/09/2021 20:02

Agree with some PPs that Ikea would be good, I would choose one of their little homes and pretend it was mine for the night. The plumbing would have to work, tho!

dmudbur · 29/09/2021 20:19

Another vote for Costco. I don't know what it is about their warehouses but I could spend hours in there looking at all the stuff! Plus they have everything (and more!) that I would need.

Ddot · 29/09/2021 20:42

Christmas store 🥰

yogz1976 · 29/09/2021 21:29

Boots. I would try out all the makeup

StormyCornishSeas · 29/09/2021 21:37

A large John Lewis or M&S for me please.

Although I wouldn't grumble at Harrods

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 29/09/2021 21:40

I worked in a department store as a student and actually DID get locked in once. It was NOT fun!

@crochetmonkey74

Mine would be a department store - try on all the clothes, swan around with the designer handbags, spritz myself with all the perfumes I can't afford (Tom Ford) then go and sample all the nice chocolates from the food hall- make myself a cappucino and take myself off to one of the squashy beds- this is a fantasy of mine so I have pondered it a lot!
This.
Ddot · 29/09/2021 21:47

High end jewellers
I'd be like Elizabeth Taylor, dripping in the stuff.

FuckingFabulous · 29/09/2021 21:56

Antique shop, definitely

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 29/09/2021 22:04

IKEA - so I could sleep in a bed after eating all the daim bars!
