If you were locked in a shop overnight ( by yourself and in no danger )
Which type of shop would you choose ?
Mine would 100% be a bookshop . Even better if it had somewhere to make a coffee / tea.
My idea of heaven.

A wedding dress shop. I'd love to twirl around. I have often thought that would be a brilliant business idea. Let ladies try on a wedding dress without the effort of getting married.

Tiredmumno1 · 28/09/2021 17:27

Definitely IKEA, I love the idea of hide and seek, I would so go round the wrong way (gosh, what a rebelGrin)

I'd also have a meatball party Wink

I spent the night in a large Tesco store, it was not locked though. We were stranded because of major floods and the police were sending people there, also staff who couldn’t get home were there. It was not bad although no beds. The staff kept the cafe open all night and drinks and snacks were free. We were driving back through England to Scotland having got off a ferry from France but couldn’t get to our stop off hotel. Most of the dads tried to kip in the cars, ready to drive as soon as we got the go-ahead, and the mums and kids tried to sit it out in the store. We had our luggage with us so that was handy. We gathered pillows and blankets together to make little nests for the kids to sleep on. The flood water receded in the morning a little so we grabbed some picnic food, had a cooked breakfast in the cafe and then the police came and escorted cars out. As we were leaving poor buggers who had been stuck on the M6 ALL night started showing up to use loos etc. TESCO saved us Star

John Lewis on Oxford Street. They've got everything I need.

chaosrabbitland · 28/09/2021 17:50

smyths toys , this is slightly sad ,but i love slyvannian families , although i am 49 . the sets are so lovely , it all looks so cosy and countrified . and the little animals , the hedgehogs ,squirrels , and of course the rabbits ,
id build the whole lot and make up a huge village with it all , nothing would remain unbuilt ,

after that id start on all the barbie stuff , cos i loved barbies as a kid ,so id build all the sets and get every barbie out no doubt !

MsMonroe99 · 28/09/2021 17:54

Harrods 😁

MsMonroe99 · 28/09/2021 17:54

At Christmas 🤣

LadyCarolineDester · 28/09/2021 17:58

All I’m thinking is, somewhere with a huge, comfy bed with an expensive duvet. I would get straight in.

(I have a four week old baby.)

NotSoNewAndShiny · 28/09/2021 18:15

An all-in-one bookstore, coffee shop with lots of cakes, department store with lots to nibble, food shop, music shop (for oldies songs), bed and blanket shop.

That's all I need.

I doubt I'd be able to eat that much in 8 hours but I'd rather have the choice.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 28/09/2021 18:17

None I bet they are running alive with rodents!

Boood · 28/09/2021 18:31

John Lewis. I’m going there when the apocalypse strikes. Everything you’d need.

starfishmummy · 28/09/2021 18:45

@Dontforgetyourbrolly

None I bet they are running alive with rodents!
I must admit that thought had crossed my mind!!
NotSoNewAndShiny · 28/09/2021 18:46

In my fantasy, there are no rodents or anything unwanted.Grin

endlesscraziness · 28/09/2021 18:50

John Lewis. I was so jealous one year when a load of customers were snowed in

freshcarnation · 28/09/2021 18:52

Harrods please. So I can visit the food hall, see the toys and play on the escalators

RicherThanYew · 28/09/2021 19:02

Hamleys in Cardiff. I always carry food and drink for diabetic emergencies so I don't need to cheat and say "with a coffee shop attached" like some of you lot Grin
I would DESTROY the RC car section.

ChickenGotLegs · 28/09/2021 19:17

This happened to me as a kid, got locked in a furniture store with my mum and aunt, the guy just locked up and left while we were upstairs. There was a bus stop right outside the door/windows and I remember the people doing a double take as we banged on the glass 😆 I think we found a phone in the back office and called the police who in turn got the owner to arrive to let us out. I do remember them taking names and addresses though just incase anything was missing I'm presuming! I had great fun wandering around!
I'm sure that worker got a right earful the next day though 🤣

AnyFucker · 28/09/2021 19:23

This very nearly happened to me once in TopShop. I was in an upstairs changing room with loads of stuff, forgot the time and the staff forgot about me.

The next thing I knew, I could hear “see you tomorrow’s” and the door shutter coming down. I ran to the window and banged frantically

I was so embarrassed

RicherThanYew · 28/09/2021 19:36

I love rats, we had one living in our cooker when I was 10 and we were broke so I won't mind the wee furry mites Blush

dayswithaY · 28/09/2021 20:05

Not exactly but once I worked in a clothes shop in a big shopping centre. We were working late and I had to go out and get something from another shop and found myself walking through a deserted, locked shopping centre in the dark. It was terrifying. I kept seeing things in the shadows and the only sound was my feet. Nightmarish.

TheRealHousewife · 28/09/2021 20:07

Actually about 40 years ago I’ve was locked in a department store … extremely drunk, in loos, fell asleep, woke in the early hours. I actually found my way out as the side door was open (perhaps for early deliveries)😬

Davros · 28/09/2021 20:13

God yes, of course Liberty

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 28/09/2021 20:15

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 28/09/2021 20:16

effiehabb · 28/09/2021 20:18

Definitely a department store, preferably with a bar! Grin
