Anyone waiting for our heatwave?

Haha yes! I got excited for sunshine by then realised it was probably a London heatwave being reported!

PickAChew · 17/06/2022 17:44

I had to bring me blinking washing in, this afternoon. It was spitting and the radar didn't look good.

Someaddedsugar · 17/06/2022 19:08

It's been a strange day for weather hasn't it! I was very disappointed as it was lovely yesterday.

Nursery have a poster in the window to say St Margaret's allotments in Durham have an open afternoon on 10 July from 1.30. I think it was £5 for adults and children are free.

Heatwave is definitely London centric. Was nice enough yesterday but not a heatwave.

anyone in Darlington we have our scout fair on cockerton green 1-4 today, waves and outs self 😀

Someaddedsugar · 18/06/2022 07:42

It's warm here already today. Hoping it stays this way so we can play in the garden.

@lifelongfrugaleer we're still house hunting but we will pop along next year 😁

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/06/2022 21:50

we are there every year.
was good to see soo many people this year as well

ParadiseCove · 20/06/2022 10:28

Hope you all had a good weekend! Hope the sunshine continues.

We went to the new adventure playground at Raby Castle yesterday, which the kids enjoyed.

@Someaddedsugar Hope the house-hunting is going well. When we moved to Durham the market was insane and supply of houses for families was very limited! Maybe that is specific to Durham City because of the university expansion though.

Someaddedsugar · 20/06/2022 20:14

@ParadiseCove the market still seems really slow - definitely not much new being added and the ones that are worth the money are snapped up instantly!

It does feel a bit like the price rises have stopped though. It's not going down but doesn't seem to be getting any more extreme!

Hasn't the weather been lovely today - I hadn't expected it to be so warm. DS insisted on wearing fleece pjs to bed and thankfully realised immediately he'd be too hot. I wasn't looking forward to trying to change his pjs without waking him 😂.

No it was crazy in Darlington last year as well. Definitely slowing a little though for some. For sale signs up longer

AlviarinAesSedai · 20/06/2022 20:25

The weather has been lovely today. It is still so light on a nighttime. Longest day soon. So I am going to enjoy.
Good luck on the house hunting. There definitely doesn’t seem much available around me, other than new builds.

AlviarinAesSedai · 23/06/2022 17:47

Date for Crook Hall reopening.
Went past the new buildings next to Arnison centre. Gosh they look built, so inside must be being finished.

Someaddedsugar · 23/06/2022 20:22

@lifelongfrugaleer I'm hoping we'll find the one for us soon!

@AlviarinAesSedai they've flown up haven't they! I also noticed there's a Cex at the Arnison Centre now next to Specsavers. I wonder if that'll be successful as it seems to always be busy in Durham Centre.

Looking forward to Crook Hall reopening!

What date does jcrook hall reopen?

If you need any insider info into Darlington streets let me know @Someaddedsugar

AlviarinAesSedai · 23/06/2022 20:46

From 1pm on the Wednesday the 13 July. They have their own Facebook page.

AlviarinAesSedai · 23/06/2022 20:50

I noticed the CEX shop. I’m waiting for Hobbycraft, but there is a rumour that Boyes is coming.

MsMarvellous · 24/06/2022 11:40

I'd love a hobby craft at Arnison. Save a trek to Team Valley!

AlviarinAesSedai · 24/06/2022 15:16

Just seen they are finally going to clear the Wear at Durham, about bloody time.
I would love Hobbycraft to come to Arnison centre, but that was rumoured when Poundland was announced. So I am losing hope.
Looks like garden’s at Crook Hall will be opened first before 13 July.

PickAChew · 24/06/2022 19:22

I've given up. On Hobbycraft
Isn't pure gym opening where Laura Ashley was?

AlviarinAesSedai · 24/06/2022 22:36

Pure gym! Would rather have Hobbycraft. 😊

PickAChew · 26/06/2022 00:11

Exactly!

PickAChew · 26/06/2022 00:11

If I wanted a, gym, I'd join the sonens6gym, nearby.

PickAChew · 26/06/2022 00:12

Women's gym. Trim down my fat fingers.
