I'm 30, a single mum to 3 and have the following list of diagnoses:

Autism

Depression

Anxiety

Psychosis with auditory and visual hallucinations

PTSD

Hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome

Psoriatic arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis

Subrapubic disfunction

De Quervains tenosynovitis

Fibromyalgia

Binge eating disorder

I use a walking frame to help me mobilise and I am currently 19st 10lb.

Ive joined weight watchers, have a load of healthy snack options in.

I plan on getting between 6 and 8 thousand steps a day (have been slowly working up from 2000 for the last year)

I'm going to start keeping a journal and mark all appointments in a diary.

I'm going to do some gentle yoga every day, even if I only manage ten minutes.

Come cheer me on, join me in changing your life, or simply wish me luck.

I'm really feeling positive about the changes. I write in my journal each night one thing that's made me smile, so even if it has seemed like a bad day, the kids have argued, the house is a tip and I've been in pain etc, theres somenthing that's brought me joy and it lifts my spirits to go back and read those when I am finding things tough.

Good news from the vet. Kittens eye isn't perforated or ulcerated, but he does have conjunctivitis so he's on eye drops to clear it up. Back again next week to make sure he's doing OK.

Another busy day today with DS1 at hospital for his regular heart check. He has mitral and aortic regurgitation and in of the arteries connected to the heart twists the wrong way around his heart. His cardiologist has never seen that before but it doesn't seem to be causing problems.

OP posts:
HerRoyalRisesAgain · 07/10/2021 09:45

DS1s appointment went well. No change to his heart, so thats good.
I thought I could rest today but had a phone call yesterday to book me in for a physical exam with my mental health team.

Had my physical exam. All good except for being obese...which was no surprise Grin

Went to my mums after and she made me breakfast.
Here's her cat. He's my black cats litter mate.

Oh I like the journal idea! And well done on getting through all the medical checks.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 07/10/2021 21:58

Tomorrow I'm just going to vegetate in front of the TV and do nothing!

Started reading the ickabog tonight with the kids. Was only meant to read a couple of chapters but they were so engrossed in the story we read up to chapter 10!

My journal is an absolute god send sometimes. It shows me that things aren't so bad after all.

OP posts:
HerRoyalRisesAgain · 08/10/2021 18:48

Well so much for vegetating! I cleaned the house top to bottom.
Changed all the sheets on the beds, tidied the kids rooms up, put away all the washing and cleaned the kitchen, as well as doing a full change of all the litter trays.

Goodness me, Royal, you are a busy bee!

I'm very impressed by your positivity and determination! I'm having a teeny pity party because the sudden cold spell gave me a Fibro flare and I'm not managing an increase in work hours very well.

I've enjoyed reading your thread though, and am on a similar journey (but with a few fewer complications! Grin

I've gradually increased to a regular 10k steps a day, and have lost a lot of weight with slimming world. I was morbidly obese and struggled, mobility wise.

How are you finding WW?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 08/10/2021 21:45

I've kind of adapted it to just be when Im Hungry I eat, so I have the WW meals and snacks but don't stick to 3 meals as I find I'm not always hungry. I've lost 10lb so far.

I've done my nails tonight. I'll be glad when the DC are with their dad tomorrow and I can chill out a bit!

10lb is amazing OP. ! I’ve just found your thread and it’s very inspiring actually, are you still doing the yoga? Have you tried a bit of Pilates, I do one online called The Girl With the Pilates Mat - on YouTube. She is really good any you can do workouts live or recorded, it’s free to do, and there’s different ones, high intensity or just stretching ones.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 08/10/2021 22:58

I am still doing the yoga just ten or twenty minutes each night

picklemewalnuts · 09/10/2021 08:05

Well done! I find tai chi really helpful. It's built up my strength amazingly.
I'm going to try the Pilates as well though, thanks @Waterfallgirl I need the core work!

Nails look great! I react to the gel now, so can't do mine anymore.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 09/10/2021 08:08

Tai chi sounds interesting I'll have to have a look

I'm cheering you on, if you plan to go out walking download Map My Walk then you can see how far you've walked and how many calories you've burnt, I use it and it spurs me on, I love the little map that appears too 😁
Go for it op, you got this ❤️

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 09/10/2021 11:55

Thank you map my walk sounds good, it will definitely be interesting to see how far I've waked

I got a Fitbit because I don't like carrying my phone. I started with a cheaper, £20 unbranded one, which only lasted a year. Then a branded one which has done a year so far- it needs to do 2 or 3 to pay for itself!

I've gardened, about 1,000 steps worth but a bit more active than that really. Lots of bending and pulling.
Dinner is in the instant pot. Time to sit down!

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 09/10/2021 16:50

I have a Samsung watch which connects to my phone... only I never charge it. Its z very expensive ornament!

OP posts:
picklemewalnuts · 09/10/2021 17:30

Grin yes, keeping it charged- knowing where the charger is- challenging! I've got a little system going so I know where it is and can do it in the morning while I'm having a coffee.

I was thinking - you called this 'tomorrow I am changing my life'. You are still doing it. It wasn't a one off, it's a daily recommitment to keep changing your life. So 5 weeks in and you are still changing your life on a daily basis! Go you!!

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 10/10/2021 08:34

Right watch is charged. Grin

Youre right, it's a journey that I'll be on for a while, slowly changing and improving aspects of my life.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 10/10/2021 13:35

I ended up on the park despite the pain I'm in. Didn't stay too long as the cold exacerbates my pain levels. But the kids are happy and have burnt off some energy.

OP posts:
HerRoyalRisesAgain · 11/10/2021 17:04

I've spent the day in hospital waiting to have my dislocated shoulder reset. They gave me gas and air while they did it but otherwise left me without pain relief

Nice one OP! You can do it!
