Tomorrow I change my life

I'm 30, a single mum to 3 and have the following list of diagnoses:

Autism

Depression

Anxiety

Psychosis with auditory and visual hallucinations

PTSD

Hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome

Psoriatic arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis

Subrapubic disfunction

De Quervains tenosynovitis

Fibromyalgia

Binge eating disorder

I use a walking frame to help me mobilise and I am currently 19st 10lb.

Ive joined weight watchers, have a load of healthy snack options in.

I plan on getting between 6 and 8 thousand steps a day (have been slowly working up from 2000 for the last year)

I'm going to start keeping a journal and mark all appointments in a diary.

I'm going to do some gentle yoga every day, even if I only manage ten minutes.

Come cheer me on, join me in changing your life, or simply wish me luck.

We did. Its only a small park but the kids always enjoy it. Helped that DS2s best friend was there too, he was over the moon when he spotted him and they ran to hug each other. Grin

Spoke to my psychiatrist today. She's changing me from olanzipine onto aripiprazole so hopefully that helps with my mental health and helps ease the visions and voices. She said that this antipsychotic doesn't have the weight gain that olanzipine does so that's good. It also tends to work better on young females so fingers crossed!

That’s great! Hope it all works out. I’m pretty sure you know that these things take time though.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 16/09/2021 10:39

Yeah, got to give it time
Even if it only quietens the loudest voices I'll be happy as it will be an improvement on what I'm currently dealing with.

I've managed to sit on my perching stool and wash the pots this morning. I had last night's to do too.
DS2 brought all the dirty washing down and put some in the washing machine. He's only 6 and autistic like me bless him. He also tidied his bedroom all by himself (he shares with his older brother and usually just let's DS1 do it all) it meant we were late for school though as he spent all morning cleaning instead of getting his uniform on. HmmGrin

What an awesome little man! I have three teenagers that basically need me to threaten an arson squad before that happens!

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 16/09/2021 12:45

Justilou1 my oldest is 12 and honestly getting to the point where he's happy to live in a hovel. HmmGrin teenagers are gross Grin

Well thats my kids off school. All of them have raging temps, coughs and sore throats. Little 2 have been dosed up on calpol and gone back to bed. Boris (not his real name) is shivering despite a temp of 40° so he's having a brew and feeling sorry for himself. Hes dosed up on paracetamol too.

Sounds like you might need some Covid tests too

crosshatching · 17/09/2021 16:54

This thread is so inspiring, I'm so impressed by what you're achieving, but I hope you're all better soon and it's nothing too nasty. Take it gently this weekend! 💐

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 17/09/2021 17:41

I've ordered covid tests just to be safe luckily I'm double jabbed, but DS1 (Boris) has a heart condition so it is worrying.

Fingers crossed for you and your little ones!

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 19/09/2021 10:37

Spent this morning helping the little 2 with homework. It's gone surprisingly smooth!

I did my nails last night. Doing them makes me feel good, so it's always a positive experience.

I'm going to spend some time playing board games with the kids today. We usually go to the park on Sundays but until we've had the results of the covid test back we're stuck in.

I have flu Sad so I'm spending my days being kind to myself and letting myself recover.

I also begin weaning off olanzipine and onto aripiprazole tonight. It's always scary starting new antipsychotics as I've no idea how the change will affect my psychosis. Tonight could be a rough night

MoveAhoy · 22/09/2021 20:17

Let us know how it goes. We are team Royal Riser, psychosis or not.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 23/09/2021 19:23

Thank you. So far it's affected my sleep which they said it would until I'm settled on my new ones, so im rather tired.

The kids are bring awesome though, they're really great kids. They know I'm not well and tired so they don't pester and moan, they help with housework and they keep each other amused so I can rest.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 25/09/2021 09:11

Finally seem to be shifting this flu. Still stuffy and have a headache, but im not coughing and my sore throat has eased.

The kids are meant to be tidying their bedrooms but all I can hear is giggling. They've clearly decided playing is much more fun Grin

I grew up too quickly. I don't know what it is like to mess about instead of doing as you were told. Sounds like a guilty pleasure. Fun even. I must try to allow the kids to do it once in a while.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 25/09/2021 12:54

MoveAhoy as long as their rooms are clean before the little 2 leave for their dads I don't mind them playing. They have since brought down a load of dirty washing for me, and DD has complained that she has to do her room all by herself but the boys get to do it together... their room is twice the size Grin

OP posts:
HerRoyalRisesAgain · 25/09/2021 13:10

Tidy bedroom for DD. She's still in a toddler bed despite being almost 8 as she's tiny!

OP posts:
HerRoyalRisesAgain · 25/09/2021 13:11

And the boys have done their room too. Smile

My brother came to see us this morning. The kids were over the moon. They adore their uncle.
