HerRoyalRisesAgain · 31/08/2021 20:36

I'm 30, a single mum to 3 and have the following list of diagnoses:

Autism

Depression

Anxiety

Psychosis with auditory and visual hallucinations

PTSD

Hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome

Psoriatic arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis

Subrapubic disfunction

De Quervains tenosynovitis

Fibromyalgia

Binge eating disorder

I use a walking frame to help me mobilise and I am currently 19st 10lb.

Ive joined weight watchers, have a load of healthy snack options in.

I plan on getting between 6 and 8 thousand steps a day (have been slowly working up from 2000 for the last year)

I'm going to start keeping a journal and mark all appointments in a diary.

I'm going to do some gentle yoga every day, even if I only manage ten minutes.

Come cheer me on, join me in changing your life, or simply wish me luck.

Fuck yeah, I bloody love this post! Go you!!! 💪 👏 💪

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 27/09/2021 11:05

DS1 is on an inset day so we're playing xbox.
Had to phone the vet and make an appointment for one of the cats. He's blind in one eye but it keeps leaking brown discharge so need to get that looked at.

Had my care coordinator out today. My therapy starts Friday. It was meant to start a couple of weeks ago but my therapist caught covid. I. Excited and nervous.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 27/09/2021 17:22

I won't be starting therapy this week after all. My therapist is on compassionate leave as his mum is dying.

Hi there OP - you are an inspiration 👏👏

My early 20s DD has many of the same conditions you've listed.

Her hallucinations and psychosis was caused by some of the steroid medication she was taking.

Has that been ruled out for you?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 27/09/2021 17:53

I'm sorry to hear your DD is struggling too. Medication causing it has been ruled out

Glad to hear it's been explored but sorry it was ruled out as could have been an easier fix ☹️

Sounds like you are doing so well, OP.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 27/09/2021 18:06

Thank you. Baby steps, finding one thing that made me smile each day really helps to know its not all bad

Broke things off with the man I've been seeing for the last 11 months. He's just decided now to tell me he wants to be a dad and I canr provide that for him. Another pregnancy could leave me paralysed. So that's that finished. At least he told me before he met my kids.

Good luck, you can do this and will do this.

MoveAhoy · 30/09/2021 04:00

Oh what a shame. Maybe he only just realised himself? Or maybe he was looking for an out and realised it was perfect excuse, who knows.
But you are a really good mum to have kept him away from your kids for that long!

GreyGoose1980 · 30/09/2021 04:56

Good luck OP / you’ve come do far already. You’ve got this!

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 30/09/2021 08:57

Thank you.
I only managed an hours sleep last night, but once I'm home from the pharmacy I can have a nap.
I'm not too bothered about the relationship, we both Wang different things clearly so it's better to end it than to grow to reseng each other.

Well today I managed to injure my ankle and now have tarsal tunnel! Typical
Looking forward to a nice weekend with the children.

Oh and my new tablets have drastically reduced my appetite. I've had to force down two slices of roast today.

MoveAhoy · 03/10/2021 21:12

I'm sure that should say toast but forcing down two slices of roast is epic.

mumulala · 03/10/2021 21:16

You can do it! Well done for having the courage to make a change and rise above all your challenges. Your post made me really happy x

YodaiamsaidI · 03/10/2021 21:22

Good luck OP,I too have depression, anxiety and binge eating disorder, had a really bad week depression wise and been unable to leave house, binging escalated and put on 10lbs in just a week.
Will follow your example x

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 04/10/2021 14:42

Grin it was definitely meant to say toast!

@YodaiamsaidI good luck! We've got this.

Took DD to a hospital appointment today. She has recurring UTIs. They've said as she's so small, her bladder is smaller than expected so she can't hold her urine like other kids her age and trying to is causing her ti become infected. She has an anxiety disorder called selective mutism and she couldn't speak to the doctor today and was heartbroken about it because she wanted to talk to him, her voice just wouldn't work so I've been comforting a very upset little girl. It breaks my heart ti see her struggle so much.

My daughter used to have words she just couldn't say but she could sing them. Has she tried that? how old is she again?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 05/10/2021 10:10

Shes 7. She has tried singing. Nothing works unfortunately. I just felt so bad for her.

Today I've got to nip to the GP and drop off DDs urine sample, then im taking the cat to the vets for his eye. He's blind in his right eye and it's leaking yellow and brown gunk so best to have it looked at.

I've just found this thread and Royal you are a marvel. Honestly, you're an inspiration and since reading the thread, I'm thinking of ways that I can make changes to be better for my children too. Thank you for sharing, and for what it's worth, you have an army of cheerleaders on here!

Hope DD improves re her UTI. My heart broke for her not being able to speak to the doctor when she so badly wanted to. Do you have support for her via the school or health service?

So hope your poorly-eyed kitten recovers quickly too.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 05/10/2021 10:58

Thank you so much.
DD has a speech therapist and is supported in school via an IEP (individual education plan. Like and EHCP but not legally binding) and the school senco. They're amazing with her. She has had the same TA in her class since being in reception and she's moved up each year with DD who is now in year 3 so DD is comfortable enough with at least one adult.

OP posts:
BreathingDeep · 05/10/2021 11:08

Royal, that's amazing support for your DD - clearly you're an awesome advocate for her.

How are you feeling about the changes you've made? I really hope you're feeling proud because you're inspiring!
