Tomorrow I change my life

I'm 30, a single mum to 3 and have the following list of diagnoses:

Autism

Depression

Anxiety

Psychosis with auditory and visual hallucinations

PTSD

Hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome

Psoriatic arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis

Subrapubic disfunction

De Quervains tenosynovitis

Fibromyalgia

Binge eating disorder

I use a walking frame to help me mobilise and I am currently 19st 10lb.

Ive joined weight watchers, have a load of healthy snack options in.

I plan on getting between 6 and 8 thousand steps a day (have been slowly working up from 2000 for the last year)

I'm going to start keeping a journal and mark all appointments in a diary.

I'm going to do some gentle yoga every day, even if I only manage ten minutes.

Come cheer me on, join me in changing your life, or simply wish me luck.

He has seen it. He saw it this morning, and he is very impressed. He's also rather impressed I managed to find potato birthday cards and potato bunting Grin

Today my oldest is 13! I'm too young to have a teenager! Grin
So today we are having family round to celebrate. His dad won't be here despite being invited. He told DS he can't be bothered and wants a day to relax after working 3 days Hmm (he works away, he finished work last night and is only 2 hours away so could easily make it for his birthday)
Here's his cake I had made for him. Little so and so thought he'd stumped me when he asked for a potato themed birthday! Grin

PCR test done 2 days ago has come back negative. So DD did have covid but no longer does. So we've celebrated by baking. We made a sponge cake, which they decorated... they went a bit OTT with the sprinkles. We also made banana bread and brownies.
All gluten free due to DS2s coeliac.

Well DD definitely has covid. Luckily she's not too unwell with it. Just a bad cough and loss of taste and smell. She's currently singing frozen songs. She's as good at singing as her mum... which is to say she's not very good at all Grin

Thanks

My strategy so far has just been to get straight back on the horse as soon as I'm able. Right now I can't do yoga due to my fractured shoulder, but im still focusing on other areas and taking some time each day to meditate. Once my shoulder heals I should hopefully still be in the right frame of mind to get back to it as I've continued with everything that I can do

Well done OP. So impressed by this. Good Luck with the journey. ThanksThanksThanks

What's your strategy for when you fall off the bandwagon and either don't stick to healthy eating, don't do the amount of steps or fail to do the yoga? This will of course happen whether down to illness or bad days. In my experience getting back onto plan can be a big stumbling block, so perhaps try to think about that in advance. Also, how are you going to reward yourself? That is also important! X

Well today has been a nice relaxed day. I'm starting to feel much better.
I've lost 8lb this week! I'm very proud of myself as that's that's huge amount to lose.

Turns out my chest infection is actually pneumonia. No wonder I've been feeling so rubbish!

Aww thank you. DS is fab. He's such a good lad.
I've ended up with DD and DS2 off school sick today. So we're snuggled up on the sofa, DS1 brought down my quilt before leaving for school, and were watching gumball... im certain the creators of this show were on drugs. Its mad.

Piccy tea, as it's known in our house, is the best!
Your DS sounds wonderful-you got parenting right!
Im am absolutely certain you will do this. Your attitude is so inspiring.
I've never met you, but I think I love you!! 😂

He isn't just helping out, he's bonding with his sibs, learning life skills and getting experience. I was a foster carer, so my birth children had a higher level of responsibility than most children. I worried at times, but they both learned loads of useful skills and attitudes.

Of course you don't want to burden him, but there's a positive to it too!

Aww thank you. I dont feel awesome at the minute. I cant read to the kids because my throat is so sore due to coughing because of this bloody chest infection I have, so DS1 has taken over bedtime stories. He's also doing a lot more housework because of my fractured shoulder. I feel bad asking but he's a good lad and doesn't mind helping me out.
