The sh*ttiest thing that someone has said to you?

What's the rudest/sh*ttiest thing that someone has said to/asked you?

Years ago, I was a bridesmaid for a (now ex) friend. I was blonde at the time and she asked me to dye my hair brown as she preferred it darker. Hmm
I did not dye my hair brown.

If that was the rudest thing anyone were to ever say to me, I'd count myself lucky

Iamthewombat · 22/08/2021 00:32

That is the worst thing anyone ever said to you?? Ever?

Houseofvelour · 22/08/2021 00:33

There's been a lot worse (my violent ex threatening to kill me 🙃) but this was by far the rudest.

I think you need to define in what context OP!

I mean I've had random men say all sorts of shit.

You're going to get a load of answers some of which will be pretty upsetting/ personal.

What sort of things are you after? Light hearted?

coodawoodashooda · 22/08/2021 00:36

That i didn't know my abusive xh well enough before i got married. No shit.

FelicityBeedle · 22/08/2021 00:38

I can take most insults, and have at work before. But a little shit of a friend calling teenage me ‘Thomas’ dicksleeve’ really hit me. I don’t think I’ve ever actually yelled at someone like that before or since. It was a wonderful feminist diatribe and very therapeutic

Scabetty · 22/08/2021 00:39

Friend's mother telling people that the last time she had seen me was a year previous when I was half the size I was now and 6 months pregnant. The silence that followed was enough to confirm I was right in thinking she was a cunt.

GreyhoundG1rl · 22/08/2021 00:43

You've led a charmed life so far, op.

AlexandraQueen · 22/08/2021 00:45

That she felt sorry for my unborn child, they would grow up confused not knowing what colour they were (we're a mixed race couple)

My father once said that I was completely & absolutely useless & he wished I’d never been born. I’d gone to the loo & paused a video I was watching, & missed a reminder to record something he’d programmed. He was always horrible to me when he was drunk. I left & didn’t speak to him for several months.

Couldn't be further from the truth but how nice that you can make assumptions on my entire life from 2 sentences. Quite a skill you have there.

Your post literally said this was the shittiest thing that had ever been said to you?

queenjaneappro · 22/08/2021 00:49

Random bloke in pub when I was about 19. You're such a pretty girl but why do you eat so much. Destroyed my self esteem.

This is just awful. Sorry you experienced this.

LocalHobo · 22/08/2021 00:51

My BILs mother, at a birthday celebration for him, said to me "I only wish I had your confidence to not care what I look like" Shock
I was so taken aback I did not reply and she moved on to her next victim.

Yeh, or the rudest. This was pretty damn rude. I started the thread as I find it fascinating hearing people's stories. No one is obliged to share anything truly hurtful or traumatic. Just what they feel comfortable sharing.

A company that I worked for was going through a cost cutting exercise and pressurised and bullied staff so badly that some, including me, became ill. If I’d stuck it out, I would have got a substantial redundancy package due to length of service, 23 years, but in the end I quit as my mental health was more important. They literally drove me crazy. On the day I left, my manager told me he was glad I and others were leaving as the company was paying him a £2,000 bonus for every senior staff member that left without a package. Bastard.

Sunshineboo · 22/08/2021 00:53

just walking through town and a bloke tapped me on shoulder. you would be pretty if you lost weight.

i mean you are not pretty right now you fat cunt, but you know...

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 22/08/2021 00:54

My mother telling my husband "I pity you being married to her".

Deadringer · 22/08/2021 00:58

Not said to me, but to my devastated 17 year old sil, at my fil's funeral. I didn't like your father, at all, but i respected him.

"You'd have thought all your teenage spots would have gone before you started getting grey hairs..."
Ha! This has reminded me:

“If I were you I’d be praying to Mary* to make you pretty and take away your spots” (nutcase aunt, when I was 15).

  • the blessed virgin mother of God!

I was always pretty. And clever. She didn’t like it one bit! Still doesn’t. Ha ha.

Characterbuilding · 22/08/2021 01:21

"I don’t want half Black children" (whilst pregnant with his child). I had the baby who is now a teenager and never saw him again.

7thSojourn · 22/08/2021 02:00

Ex number one after 6 years together: "I never loved you, I just used you for regular sex"

Ex number two after 21 years together: "I don't love you, never have, never found you attractive, etc"

Been single ever since and that's the way it's going to stay!

Allypallya · 22/08/2021 02:04

My dad to me, " you should have been a miscarriage "
Random guy in the pub " nice tits, shame about the face "....
Hmm
