We went camping, there was a huge storm, he packed up his car and left me with 3 children, a huge tent to take down and everything still to pack in the lashing rain and wind because 'his stuff was packed'. I was still there an hour later and a man from a neighbouring tent couldn't even believe he had gone and just left me to struggle on my own.

Your turn...

When we were decorating and money was super tight.... he came home with a 1,500 quid brand new massive tv and made me help him attached it to a wall that needed to be plastered and painted.

I was pregnant at the time and finally left when my ds was 3 but it was at that point after years of shite that I knew we were done.

PanamaPattie · 22/05/2021 14:33

I was doing two jobs to pay the rent and bills and he sold our car as he fancied the summer off to go surfing. Bye.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 22/05/2021 14:41

I felt completely empty and emotionally drained, exhausted.

whycantwegoonasthree · 22/05/2021 14:46

When my husband rugby tacked me to the ground on a high street because I refused to get in a car with him, and complete strangers called the police.

Fun times.

LaBellina · 22/05/2021 14:49

When I found out that he had made a complete mess of his financials and that if I’d stay, it would negatively affect mine too.
I left that night, best decision I ever made.

GingerbreadPlease · 22/05/2021 14:53

My ex husband was in one of his extended huffs, day 4 of the silent treatment. Clarity descended and I said , fuck you, I'm off.

Armychefbethebest · 22/05/2021 14:56

When I found out he had lied about serving in the army for 8 years had no doubt to believe him he had lots of stories turns out they were bits of other peoples lives , I was told by a mutual friend he didnt make it out of basic trading lying shitbag, goodbye !

starrynight21 · 22/05/2021 15:00

When I came home after a long, hot day at work, all ready for a shower and a cold drink.....and heard him and a "friend" out in the back garden, laughing together. That laugh was different from a normal laugh. In that moment I knew everything I needed to know about them. Time to go . Best thing I ever did.

Bambooshoot · 22/05/2021 15:13

His phone auto dialled me and I heard him chatting up another woman in a pub - five minutes before, he’d been talking to me and said he was home alone! So grateful for Karma on that one, I texted and said she was welcome to him, he never did work out how I knew!

coodawoodashooda · 22/05/2021 15:15

I couldn't stand him screaming in my face for one more minute.

Gilead · 22/05/2021 15:20

When I got into trouble for breathing in the wrong place in a sentence, thereby apparently misleading him...

Puffalicious · 22/05/2021 15:21

He stood at the door on Boxing day shouting at me whilst I cuddled DC aged 2 and 4. His point? I'd given the children the white meat of the turkey rather than the darker meat which was 'better' for them.

Something gave in me right then at that moment. I asked him to leave and that was it.

Sideorderofchips · 22/05/2021 15:21

He fucked myy so called best mate.

mrssunshinexxx · 22/05/2021 15:22

Wow some of these are truly awful I hope you are all much happier now x

TheVanguardSix · 22/05/2021 15:22

When he kept taking weekend trips out to Death Valley to 'sleep under the stars and go off-grid'... with her. It was the black lace g-string (I was heavily pregnant at the time, so wearing a potato sack was and remains my knickers of choice) and the earrings he tried to convince me were mine in the back seat of the car that made me realise what all of the weird 'lingering silence on the other end' phone calls on the landline (this was back in 2001/2) and the unusual perfume smell in our flat were all about. It's funny, they think they're being so sly about it all. Hmm

lostsoul1989 · 22/05/2021 15:26

I think I'm going to have to walk away, day 6 of the silent treatment.

Don't know what I have done other then get drunk last weekend.

Solasta · 22/05/2021 15:30

When he took my bank card from the hospital when I had given birth and cleared my bank account Hmm

Next day all the other Dads/husbands were waiting at the door to come in and see their wives/new borns. He strolled in hours later with the mother of all hangovers.

He then proceed to go out the next 10 consecutive nights. I had a deposit down on another flat within the month and left the following month.

thisisbull · 22/05/2021 15:37

@lostsoul1989 day 6? Leave

thisisbull · 22/05/2021 15:38

When he said he needed 'space' so I gave him space and found I didn't like who I was with him or who he was. This song gave me a lot of clarity

lostsoul1989 · 22/05/2021 15:39

Hot and cold all week! Thought we past it when he was texting me last night.

Seeleyboo · 22/05/2021 15:43

Ex husband used to beat me but one day he punched my 10 year old son in the side of his head. That was the end. I was no longer afraid of him.

notsignedupforthis · 22/05/2021 15:43

When my dad had to track him down after the scary emergency c section birth of my first and he'd gone awol.
Then 6 months later when he made me cancel the wedding....

This was someone he was having an affair with?
BurningRed · 22/05/2021 15:45

So many similar stories here...

Mine was he told me I didn’t have a right to comment on a meal we’d gone out for as I’m a pescatarian so therefore my opinion on food was not valid.

Off you f**k...

This is one of the worst things I've read on here. How did you get home?
