Because I had to write it down today but I was too embarrassed to ask him to clarify the spelling 🙈.

Welease Wyan!

Butwasitherdriveway · 30/03/2021 16:33

@eggandonion

Rowan?
This is a shout
littlewhitestar · 30/03/2021 16:33

Could it be something like Wynn or Wayne? And the person who told you was mistaken?

Saltyslug · 30/03/2021 16:34

Wayne

quarentini · 30/03/2021 16:34

Rywn

sleepyhead · 30/03/2021 16:34

Wryan? As in Wren or Wrath?

Why would you do that to a name though? Why???

somethingischasingme · 30/03/2021 16:34

Ryuun is a name- Australian.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/03/2021 16:34

@ArosGartref

Welease Wyan!
Grin

(Should have been [gwyn], obviously, but I wouldn't have got a little smiley face)

CongealedCrags · 30/03/2021 16:36

DD goes to school with Isabella Withawhy who, it turns out is actually just Ysabella Smith.

Perhaps she is related to Ryan Withadoubleyou.

WestendVBroadway · 30/03/2021 16:37

@PuzzleMonkeyMum Are you sure he didn't mean a double U as in Uu? Could be Ryuun!

Dinkydody · 30/03/2021 16:39

@DrumAndMonkey

Wryan is a name!!
This! Definitely a name.Smile
IstandwithJackieWeaver · 30/03/2021 16:39

@IstandwithJackieWeaver

I'm with *@Candean* - his name's Ryan and his surname starts with W. You've misunderstood.
I've just re-read the OP's second post and realised it does mean the first name! Just look for his surname on Facebook and if he's local he'll come up. Here's hoping he doesn't have a really common surname!
FakeFruitShoot · 30/03/2021 16:39

Ryuun or Wryan

SofiaMichelle · 30/03/2021 16:42

'Wyan', surely?

Just like 'Cark'.

If someone told you their name was Ryan but Ryan spelt with a W how would it be spelt?
LudoBear · 30/03/2021 16:42

Wryan

ekidmxcl · 30/03/2021 16:44

Wrian like Brian I suppose?

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 30/03/2021 16:44

Where are you OP? There are enough us trying to solve this conundrum that between us we should be able to find him.

GoWalkabout · 30/03/2021 16:46

Rowan

Dixiechickonhols · 30/03/2021 16:47

Westend yes I bet that’s it! Good guess.

Dagnabit · 30/03/2021 16:47

I think maybe Rwyan...

LudoBear · 30/03/2021 16:48

Ohh could it be his Facebook name is spelt different so Rwan or Rywn? Doesn't mean his actual name is spelt that way. Eg Isabelle Jones is on Facebook but spells it Yzabel on FB? Does that make sense? Can you Google the name with correct spelling of Ryan and see what comes up? That'll only work if its an unusual surname tho.

hogangog · 30/03/2021 16:49

it's not welsh. and whoever said tudor = twdwr i think is getting confused with the nam Tudur. w in welsh gives an oo sound (like in pool). i have no idea what ryan with a w would look like but just clearing that up Wink Ruuan? literally a double u?!

skipperjonce · 30/03/2021 16:49

I’m Wyan and so’s my wife!

Scbchl · 30/03/2021 16:50

Wrian?

It was me - I've seen it in books. I think it's archaic. (Or possibly pretentious twittery Grin)
