Was looking for something in 'your orders' and idly clicked the drop-down box to look at previous orders by year.

Mine: 2001 - The Deeper Meaning of Liff by Douglas Adams et al

March 2003 leather iPod case

@Aquamarine1029

Omg, this is so funny. I just looked at my account and my first order was for a biscotti cookbook in November 2000.
That is very niche.

Laquila · 16/03/2021 15:24

Haha I've just checked and it was The Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy in Nov 2000...for an elective I gave up after a year 😁

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 16/03/2021 15:30

I was a late adopter 🤣

  1. First of many charging cables!!
MixedUpFiles · 16/03/2021 15:31

It’s saying “the Goddess Diet” in 2001, but I know I made purchases earlier than that. I had Amazon deliver “Goblet of Fire” to my flat on the morning it was released in 2000 and that was definitely not my first Amazon purchase.

IntermittentParps · 16/03/2021 15:35

Mine is a book I have no recollection of: I'm Too Busy to be Stressed: How to Recognise and Relieve the Symptoms of Stress by Hilary Jones. I suspect I bought it for work as I used to work in a slightly related field.

My first personal purchase seems to have been Only Human: A Comedy by Jenny Diski (RIP)

notdaddycool · 16/03/2021 15:35

March 2000 - learn Hindi through English in 30 days. I still don’t know it.

GuyFawkesDay · 16/03/2021 15:41

1998/9, a thrilling book on town and country planning in the UK. It was cheaper than the university booksellers.

GiantKitten · 16/03/2021 15:44

2003 - 2 Narnia videos, an Anne Tyler book and CDs of 2 of my favourite albums.
I’m surprised I was still buying VHS then!
(& always find it hilarious that all those oldest orders were literally only books/music/video and now it’s a one-stop shop)

2004 - The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

GuyFawkesDay · 16/03/2021 15:47

Though my app says 2002 a book called "the A-Z of everything" (a gift for someone I think?!) I definitely bought uni books in late 90s from Amazon

RickiTarr · 16/03/2021 15:47

An economics textbook. It was my weak spot but important background for my main subject and I was trying to gen up ahead of PG applications & interviews. Twenty years ago. Time does fly.

FreeAt50 · 16/03/2021 15:47

Baby Mozart on VHS Confused

VHS in 2002!? Surely not!

JimmyJabs · 16/03/2021 15:48

The Complete Fairy Tales by The Brothers Grimm, in May 2000. I don't remember ever owning this, so I must have given it to someone as a gift. How strange!

LittleBoxes · 16/03/2021 15:50

2001, Ginger Geezer: The Life of Vivian Stanshall by Lucian Randall and Chris Welch. Though I think I bought a few things off amazon.com before the UK one started.

Gerla · 16/03/2021 15:51

2001 How to Eat by Nigella Lawson. Still use it a lot!

Mine was 2001 - How to be a Domestic Goddess! I still use it too which is more than I can say for most of the past orders on my account!

Elzbells · 16/03/2021 15:53

1999 - Last Chance Saloon by Marion Keyes

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 16/03/2021 15:54

Mine doesn't go back past 2001.
I used to buy books from them in the late 90's
But in 2001 I was still buying books and a couple of videos.

Rockbird · 16/03/2021 15:56

A kids book on the 20th Feb 2000. I didn't buy anything else until the end of September!

Gerla · 16/03/2021 15:58

Actually finding it quite depressing going through these past orders. So many things bought and then not used...especially books about completing your PhD and furthering your academic career....back when I still thought I might have a career! Sad

FrankiesKnuckle · 16/03/2021 15:58

Curb your Enthusiasm box set in 2006.
