Kids TV series of the 90s.....anyone want to join me in reminiscing?

Someone on another thread has just mentioned “The Biz” which was from memory one of CBBC’s 5pm weekly series from back in the 90s. It’s got me thinking about all the other great stuff from that era (I was junior / secondary school age during the 90s) and can remember the following;

Watt on Earth (about an alien man who lives in a boys shed?!!)
The Queens Nose (and I had a major girl crush on the ginger girl, I just thought she was so beautiful and sassy)
5 children and It (what was that sand creature called?!! And I remember time travel being involved)
The Borrowers (Sunday tea time, my parents tried to get me into the books and failed)
Dark Season (a Russell T Davies one and quite dark / scary)
No Sweat (boy band)

Anyone else want a trip down memory lane? That’s all I can think of for now!

Anyone remember Rude dog?

AradiaGC · 23/02/2021 23:28

I liked Reboot! As well as so many that others have already mentioned. It's strange how with so many I only have to read the name and I can hear the theme tune in my head.

Ones I don't think I've seen mentioned:

Cow and Chicken
Recess
Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego
The Tribe (on Saturdays - I loved this!)
Spellbinder (Australian(?) show about a boy who travels to another world - did anyone else see this? I think it was on an odd channel that I managed to tune into)

Fully Booked with Morag - anyone remember that?

Soberfutures · 23/02/2021 23:30

So many that have been mentioned.
Spatz. Which not many remember.

Heartbreak high. Been watching this on amazon prime.
Nicolodean Hey dude. About a ranch that had guests?
Nicolodean. When they had a game show and had to climb a mountain at the end.
Alex mack. Clarissa explains it all.
Someone said dream catchers. I used to imagine all my dreams in glass.

My so called life was a big life moment.

Sunday mornings, snuggled at the end of the parents bed all watching Animals of Farthing Wood. Happy days.

Wtfdidwedo · 23/02/2021 23:31

I've also just remembered Johnson and Friends that I had to Google, and I really hope someone else knows it - it was a big soft toy pink elephant that came alive out of a toy box, and the other characters were a hot water bottle, a robot, a weird spring thing, a truck etc.

AradiaGC · 23/02/2021 23:31

@brushandmop Your mystery programme wasn't Spellbinder, was it? I know I didn't see it on ITV but it might have ended up there later.

icriedsohard · 23/02/2021 23:31

Arabella and Mortimer
Funhouse
Poddington peas
Bodger and badger
Barbar
Marline Marlowe
Dungeons
T Bag
What on earth

Those were the days if only they were on tv now :(

lurker101 · 23/02/2021 23:32

@AradiaGC ahhh I LOVED Recess!

Does anyone remember Yvonne of the Yukon? I had an on/off relationship with it

Here's one I can't name - it was a game show and the contestants went to different rooms in something like a hotel or apartment building for each round. One involved 'alphabet soup' which was like a swimming pool with letters in it that they had to grab and spell something with. The final part of the game took place in the penthouse. Any ideas?

LadyLolaRuben · 23/02/2021 23:35

Great post bringing back great memories. How about Saturday tv programmes - 73, motor mouth and Going Live

TheresAnEyeInMeSoup · 23/02/2021 23:38

Yes, with Gail Porter as one of the presenters
TheresAnEyeInMeSoup · 23/02/2021 23:40

I used to love Cosmo and Dibs as a you g child. And playdays.

"It's the play bus. But where does it go? Where will it stop? Watch for the sign of the lollipop!" Grin

TheresAnEyeInMeSoup · 23/02/2021 23:42

Some of my faves overlap into the 80s, but Transformers, He-Man and the Raggy Dolls are on that list. I miss my youth.

Jonnywishbone · 23/02/2021 23:43

No one mentioned the Ninja Turtles, Lost Cities of Gold, Raggy Dolls, Big Bertha, Charlie chalk, Trap Door, Fraggle Rock, the Raccoons

I can assure you they did.
AradiaGC · 23/02/2021 23:45

@TheresAnEyeInMeSoup I always used to think the line from Playdays was 'what's inside of the lollipop?' and was disappointed we never found out the answer!

BabyClam · 23/02/2021 23:47

Loads of these!

And Saturday mornings watching Number 73, came before Going Live I think.

I loved Archers Goon on bbc, brilliant adaptation of the book by dianne Wynne Jones.

Running scared, about kids running away from home. May have had Kelly Bright (from T bag) in.

Another one about a blended family called Just Us. The man was really posh and had three daughters, one was going to an open day for a boarding school.

Jloco · 23/02/2021 23:47

One that I’ve never been able to find but sure I remember. It was about witches and/or (?) gargoyle type things that I’m sure were made of stone or something but would come to life at night (?) and for some reason I think they lived behind the back wall or in the basement of a shop or something like that! I’ve been so frustrated trying to find it so many times.

Going back a bit...She Ra.

I think it was called Incredible Games with Phillippa Forrester - great show!

Ready or Not is one I used to love with Busy and Amanda on Nickelodeon

BeastOfBODMAS · 24/02/2021 00:02

Sharkey and George, the crime busters of the sea! The theme tune still regularly gets stuck in my head. It used to be on Sunday mornings just before Get Your Own Back with Dave Benson Phillips which was where parents or teachers used to get dropped into pools of ‘gunge’
