Kids TV series of the 90s.....anyone want to join me in reminiscing?

Someone on another thread has just mentioned “The Biz” which was from memory one of CBBC’s 5pm weekly series from back in the 90s. It’s got me thinking about all the other great stuff from that era (I was junior / secondary school age during the 90s) and can remember the following;

Watt on Earth (about an alien man who lives in a boys shed?!!)
The Queens Nose (and I had a major girl crush on the ginger girl, I just thought she was so beautiful and sassy)
5 children and It (what was that sand creature called?!! And I remember time travel being involved)
The Borrowers (Sunday tea time, my parents tried to get me into the books and failed)
Dark Season (a Russell T Davies one and quite dark / scary)
No Sweat (boy band)

Anyone else want a trip down memory lane? That’s all I can think of for now!

Simon and the Witch Patrick Packard There was one about a family who had to go into witness protection. It was really good.
Ooh yes, it was linked to the older girls boyfriend somehow I think was? was it an Australian one? Or am I getting confused with one where they were out in the bush for some reason and creepy stuff happened

The Boot Street Band
Pirates
Rood Dog and The Dweebs
Dizzy Heights
@HulahoopsBBQbeef Why Don’t You!! I loved this. I loved the vibe of holiday tv. It created a real routine during the long 6 weeks (I sound like a real sad case I know!)

I did take Why Dont You’d advice and ‘switch off the tv and go and do something less boring instead’ sometimes, but I also remember 80 Days Around the World (Willy Fog!) from the holidays.

Also how cool were the American shows?

The secret world of Alex Mack (GC161)
Clarissa Explains it all
Ghostwriter
I loved Clarissa, couldn't really get into Alex Mack though.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 23/02/2021 21:57

Sarah Jane Adventures was mid-late 00s! It was after the 'new' Doctor Who started. My mum loved it Grin

I was "too old" for some of the programmes mentioned ( I'm 36)

SirSamuelVimes · 23/02/2021 21:57

God I loved Alex Mack! So exciting.

NoraLuka · 23/02/2021 22:02

Not tv programmes but did anyone else see these slightly odd programmes at school, there was Through the dragon’s eye and one with a boy who had a pigeon?

Dontbugmemalone · 23/02/2021 22:02

Ah yes Wishbone, I think I watched it on channel 5 when that was added to the main channels?

Just reminded myself about Arthur, Recess, Hey Arnold and Rugrats.

Youngatheart00 · 23/02/2021 22:02

@MichelleScarn T-bag! 😬

Oh yes, point horror books were great. I was slightly too old for goosebumps but I still read them. Along with point crime, point romance (anything point!!) and babysitters club 😬.

Speaking of babysitters club - did anyone see the Netflix reboot earlier this year? I LOVED it (also the Malory towers reboot!). Definitely want more nostalgia like that.
