Kids TV series of the 90s.....anyone want to join me in reminiscing?

Someone on another thread has just mentioned “The Biz” which was from memory one of CBBC’s 5pm weekly series from back in the 90s. It’s got me thinking about all the other great stuff from that era (I was junior / secondary school age during the 90s) and can remember the following;

Watt on Earth (about an alien man who lives in a boys shed?!!)
The Queens Nose (and I had a major girl crush on the ginger girl, I just thought she was so beautiful and sassy)
5 children and It (what was that sand creature called?!! And I remember time travel being involved)
The Borrowers (Sunday tea time, my parents tried to get me into the books and failed)
Dark Season (a Russell T Davies one and quite dark / scary)
No Sweat (boy band)

Anyone else want a trip down memory lane? That’s all I can think of for now!

Round the Twist

Youngatheart00 · 23/02/2021 21:44

I’ve realised how BBC biased mine are - my parents were VERY snobby about CBBC being ‘superior’ to CITV....I feel slightly deprived!!

Sarah Jane Adventures!

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 23/02/2021 21:51

Loved the Queens Nose and the Demon Headmaster. I said to DC yesterday that BBC/ITV missed a trick by not showing old kids shows in lockdown.

The creature in 5 children and it was called the psammead.

Round the Twist is on Amazon prime .

Saved by the Bell, Sabrina, Clarissa, Kenan and Kel and Fresh Prince were also favourites.

And Fun House.

Does any one remember the cable channel "trouble". They had a show called Cruel Summer. It was a bit like big brother for teens.

iklboo · 23/02/2021 21:51

Or was that 2000s?

GuyFawkesDay · 23/02/2021 21:51

Was 'Why don't you?' 80s or 90s? I loved that. And Round the Twist

Parkandride · 23/02/2021 21:52

The Biz theme tune was great

Please tell me someone can name this one, was CBBC about a blended family and the youngest boy had a giant blue imaginary mouse?
It was similar ish to the Wild house/family - where they did a lot of horoscopes

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 23/02/2021 21:52

@iklboo

Sarah Jane Adventures!
That was not the 90s!
Youngatheart00 · 23/02/2021 21:53

@HulahoopsBBQbeef Why Don’t You!! I loved this. I loved the vibe of holiday tv. It created a real routine during the long 6 weeks (I sound like a real sad case I know!)

I did take Why Dont You’d advice and ‘switch off the tv and go and do something less boring instead’ sometimes, but I also remember 80 Days Around the World (Willy Fog!) from the holidays.

Also how cool were the American shows?

The secret world of Alex Mack (GC161)
Clarissa Explains it all
Ghostwriter
