Kids TV series of the 90s.....anyone want to join me in reminiscing?

Someone on another thread has just mentioned “The Biz” which was from memory one of CBBC’s 5pm weekly series from back in the 90s. It’s got me thinking about all the other great stuff from that era (I was junior / secondary school age during the 90s) and can remember the following;

Watt on Earth (about an alien man who lives in a boys shed?!!)
The Queens Nose (and I had a major girl crush on the ginger girl, I just thought she was so beautiful and sassy)
5 children and It (what was that sand creature called?!! And I remember time travel being involved)
The Borrowers (Sunday tea time, my parents tried to get me into the books and failed)
Dark Season (a Russell T Davies one and quite dark / scary)
No Sweat (boy band)

Anyone else want a trip down memory lane? That’s all I can think of for now!

And what was the one where there was a teenage girl who I think lived in a B&B or something and she used to randomly just explain/narrate things to camera? I used to pretend to be her all the time Blush

ChairinSage · 23/02/2021 22:17

A few of these are on Britbox at the moment.
Press Gang has aged quite well considering - teenage DD quite liked it too.
Demon Headmaster isn't a good as I remember. I'll be watching Children's Ward before my free trial runs out.
I also loved Degrassi Junior High, Round the Twist and Byker Grove.

Mammyloveswine · 23/02/2021 22:17

Loved the queens nose!

The demon headmaster (was it based on a book? I'm sure my headteacher at primary read them to us!)

Byker grove (especially with a Geordie mam and being from Newcastle! My auntie was friends with ants mam apparently (but never got me an autograph despite my constant asking).

Sister sister.. (I'm a twin so obv we loved it!)

Are you afraid of the dark?

Mike and Angelo I quite liked. And my parents are aliens.

And some thing where there were aliens and there was something to do with robotic bear things (you know like you have in the mall at Christmas time, that sing carols and wave etc..?) and there was something about a code that said so and so (a teacher?) is a pompous wazzock... god I remember the weirdest things 😂

eandz13 · 23/02/2021 22:17

Come Outside... Pippin!
ChuckleVision
Even Stevens (maybe 2000's?)
Mona the Vampire was my favourite, I still watched it when I was about 15.

Oh I loved Home Farm Twins! I used to read all the books. They were like Animal Ark, but twins!! What could be better? :o

I used to want to be a twin so much!

@SingToTheSky

I have all the famous five DVDs too 😳 I was obsessed with the books and when the TV series was made I was so happy. I have the 70s series too. Comfort viewing!

There was also a version of the Castle of Adventure, if not others. Not the New Zealand ones (which, yes, I also have on DVD...) but a British one. Never did find it, I borrowed it from the library on video at the time.

Oh wow, where did you get the dvds? I had all the videos as a kid.

The 70's series was brilliant and such a classic. Oh Lord I'm off to Youtube them all.

RonBurgundyspanpipe · 23/02/2021 22:20

Captain Planet
The raccoons
Gummi bears (possibly 80s)
Kissifur
Bodger and Badger

NotyouGuillermo · 23/02/2021 22:20

Bug Juice - documentary style show about a summer camp in America and I desperately wanted to go!

Are you afraid of the dark? and Eerie Indiana were my favourites.

A lot of these are on Britbox at the moment Grin

I loved Poddington Peas, Dogtanian (maybe more 80s?), Byker Grove, Round the Twist, Wizadora. Watched a lot of those with my baby sister though... anyone remember T-Bag and T-Shirt?

intheenddoesitreallymatter · 23/02/2021 22:22

Oh and Ghost Hunter with Roddy and William the Ghost who was just wearing white face paint.

Also Goosebumps.

My Mum used to let us watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer too which was somewhat questionable because I was about five when it started.

TheresAnEyeInMeSoup · 23/02/2021 22:22

Just thought of more. Dark winged Duck. Biker Mice From Mars. The Spiderman Cartoon. Captain Planet. James Bond Junior.

Essential saturday night viewing was Gladiators.

Oh and the obligatory Saturday viewings of Rugrats, Johnny Bravo and Dexters Lab

TheresAnEyeInMeSoup · 23/02/2021 22:24

Buffy is great, another of my faves.

I've kept a load of point horrors and still read them.

I've just bought my son a load of goosebumps books recently. I loved reading them as a kid and the series was ace too.

parrotonmyshoulder · 23/02/2021 22:24

Dogtanian (80’s)
Cities of Gold
David the Gnome

And I used to love lunchtime programmes if I was home sick or on holiday from school - Rainbow, Rosie and Jim, Pigeon Street
