I've had a rubbish few weeks (hasn't everyone?!) So today I decided to do something relaxing whilst ds2 was napping. I drew this for my sister's birthday and will probably make it into a card. I haven't drawn in a long time and no longer have my usual art supplies so had to use ds1 crayons Grin
Come and show me something that you're proud of, I'd love to see it or hear about it!

I have nothing to show, but I love your drawing. Colours are really pretty. Made me smile. Thanks! Smile

CormoranStrike · 11/02/2021 19:03

That’s lovely.

I made this lap quilt for my mum.

I know it's a bit cringe but the first thing I thought of is my children. They range in age from 11 to 19.
They have been absolutely amazing this year. They've got on with home schooling with no nagging from dh or me and coped so well with lockdown in general. Mostly though on top of COVID 19 we suffered the most horrendous family incident last year. I could never say what as it would out me immediately. The tenacity and support they showed kept me sane in terrible times.
All these art works are lovely, you should definitely frame that op.

Your drawing is amazing, especially for kiddie crayon! Well done.

I hung these prints and they are absolutely spirit level millimetre perfectly laser straight spaced apart and levelled. So much so that they make the ceiling, which isn’t perfectly level, look even more obviously so. So proud of myself.

Great thread! I love the photos. I could definitely not do a picture like that with crayons!

I was thinking of trying pyrography for Christmas decorations, but I was thinking a couple of letters or something and had no idea something like that was even possible 😱

I’m proud of my drawings although haven’t done much lately. The one with four hands was for a little art competition with an autism charity (I’m autistic) with the theme “what lockdown means to you” - I got picked for first place so that made me very happy. The other two I have chosen because I’m really proud of how hard I’m working on my mental health. It’s a long long process and TBH I often feel like getting out of bed in the morning is the bravest thing I do each day.

@WhoUsedMyName that, my friend, takes some skill! I fancy a creme egg now...
@Jjacobb ahh, that is so lovely. It sounds like you guys are doing well after over coming so much. Have these Flowers
@ComtesseDeSpair such precision! What a lovely feature to have in your home.

I bought one enormous blind on Gumtree for £40, cut it in half and remade it into two for the kitchen. They would have been over £600 made to measure. Still very pleased with myself!

This is a very uplifting thread. I can't lift myself off the bed to get photos but I hand made some felt, which I then cut and sewed into bunting and the colours are excellent, perfect for the 'winter moving to spring' season.

GlumyGloomer · 11/02/2021 21:56

Well I'm certainly not as good an artist as everyone else on here, but this was my cover design for my novel. It's approximately 156,000 words long, and I am proud of it although looking back objectively it's a very rookie effort which could do with substantial rewrites. It very much represents the optimism of my 20's, and still makes me smile.

I climaxed in under 30 mins this week

FollowingFlitwick · 11/02/2021 23:48

@TheNationsFavourite they look fantastic and what a bargain! You'll have to buy something frivolous with the money you saved!

@PracticingPerson wow! Such creativity. What's the process like to make felt felt? Also, have these Flowers I hope you're ok.

I’m 44 and went back to school this week. I was bullied the first time round and suffer anxiety from that so taking the plunge was a big thing for me. Wish I’d had the courage to do it sooner.

dublingirl66 · 11/02/2021 23:53

@GlumyGloomer, don't put yourself down, your art is wonderful! I could never imagine having the patience to write a novel. What genre does it belong to?

@Karen138 wahoo! Have these Flowers

The blinds are so easy - it's no coincidence they're striped...makes cutting a straight line much easier! I don't alter the length, just unpick one side, cut to fit, then oversew it back together by hand. Stick it up with double sided Velcro as they are mostly for decorative effect. Very satisfying exercise.

FollowingFlitwick · 12/02/2021 05:31

@Mumofstanley sorry you had such a bad time with your first experience at school. Have these Flowers it takes determination and courage to return so you are amazing.

@ScottishStottie wow, I love the pattern you are using. You've got beautiful tension in your cross stirch- so neat! I am a huge cross stitch fan but my problem is I love starting projects but rarely have time to finish them. I currently have about 6 on the go Shock
