Aged 39, I've just ordered my first ever takeaway.

To be delivered. Never ever done it before. But got sick of cooking myself and miss eating out. It arrived in 9 minutes! So impressed. (It was Nando's!)

I don’t get them because it’s quite stressful to me. what if they get the order wrong or can’t find our house or it’s cold etc 😂 easier just to cook a frozen pizza if I cba.

klfahah · 06/02/2021 20:50

I'm in my 40s and have never ordered a takeaway either. infact I wouldn't know how to! all my neighbours get them several times a week. I occasionally walk to the local chippy but that's about it. I feel I'm missing out now and need to learn how to order one and free myself from always cooking!

lazylinguist · 06/02/2021 20:55

There's not anything to learn. Look at menu, choose food, ring restaurant!

Reastie · 06/02/2021 21:08

I’ve never had a takeaway delivered and never had a takeaway meal as an adult. Hope you enjoyed it op

@ToddlerteapleaseTry a bloody huge 12 inch Kiev pizza with garlic dip next time.... Mom nom. Welcome to the world of possible heart attacks xxxx

Jeeperscreepers69 · 06/02/2021 21:32

Stressful? Really. Who cares if it's cold or wrong order ride with it

Well, of course you’d care if your order was wrong or cold. Why would you want to ride with it? It’s meant to make your life easier or more pleasant. I was disappointed at my first attempt at ordering a takeaway in first lockdown because it arrived cold. I won’t bother again..

I only had my first takeaway delivered about 3 years ago due to lack of availability. I remember being so excited too! It really is the little things. Grin

I absolutely love a chinese and I don't care what anyone says, you can't replicate it properly at home.

Salt and chilli spare ribs, garlic and chilli beef with chips, and a spicy chicken spring roll. Come to mama 😋

Miljea · 07/02/2021 01:19

I'm 58.

I have had food delivered to my front door maybe 5 times in my life!

And I don't live particularly 'rural'. 😊

lazylinguist · 07/02/2021 10:35

I can see that it might be disappointing if it's a bit cold, but I don't see why it's stressful. I'd just pop it in the microwave/oven for a bit tbh. .

My cold takeaway was pizza. It doesn’t heat up well in a microwave. And putting the oven on would seem to defeat the point.

Me neither, ive never had a takeaway delivered, ive never been into Mcdonalds, or KFC, I bulk cook once a month and freeze. I have when ive had visitors been to the chip shop or indian and collected but very rare id say maybe 5 times in last 4 years.

Shell4429 · 07/02/2021 12:56

We only order takeaway if it’s for a birthday treat and when I had an operation a couple of years ago. Too expensive and I can’t afford the calories.

@merrygolucky

9 minutes! i've never had a take away arrive that quickly! enjoy Smile
