To be delivered. Never ever done it before. But got sick of cooking myself and miss eating out. It arrived in 9 minutes! So impressed. (It was Nando's!)

Unless you count my mum phoning my dad and telling him to pick up chips in his way home!

In the 80’s the pilau rice was coloured with food colouring. Red and green in our local.

lljkk · 05/02/2021 18:35

Nandos isn't right one to start with, imho. You can do better (!!)

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 05/02/2021 18:38

@Fluffycloudland77 it still is coloured with food colouring in my local Indian!

zombielady · 05/02/2021 18:39

Op you're on a slippery slope now! You'll be having 2 a week before you know it Grin

katewitch · 05/02/2021 18:39

This thread is making me hungry.

Indian takeaway has been ordered Grin

Nutrigrainygoodness · 05/02/2021 18:42

I am so jealous. There is only 2 places that deliver to us- neither do gluten free things so that's a no go.

No just eat or anything like that.

Enjoy your nandos 😁

Divebar2021 · 05/02/2021 18:43

Deliveroo seems to have done very well out of lockdown... you see their drivers everywhere. You can just get puddings and ice cream delivered if you fancy it. I think Nando’s is a bit average but why not work your way through the options.

BrilliantBetty · 05/02/2021 18:43

Gosh we probably have 1 a week at the moment!

Thai, Indian, Turkish. I haven't had Nando's delivered but maybe I will choose that next week!

Bluewavescrashing · 05/02/2021 18:45

Did you enjoy it OP?

NiceGerbil · 05/02/2021 18:45

Woohoo!

New experiences are always good

I know what you mean my family never even got ready meals or chips or anything but I'm lazy so been getting things for years

The thing I never think of doing is getting a cab! Because I never did when young as they were so pricey and subconsciously I just don't think of it as a viable option :)

LaChatte · 05/02/2021 18:47

Takeaway delivery virgin here too, but only because we live in the arse end of nowhere. Probably not a bad thing, I can imagine it being an expensive habit otherwise.

We definitely had deliveries in the 80s. Neon pilau was definitely there. My sister and I used to get a bag of Bombay mix or prawn crackers depending on what the adults were eating.
mistletoeandsigh · 05/02/2021 18:50

Yeah! Try an Indian next time Grin

LaChatte · 05/02/2021 18:50

(Also have never eaten Nando's, but in my defence I don't live in the UK, although I do come over once or twice a year normally).

Toddlerteaplease · 05/02/2021 18:52

Don't like curry!

RhubarbAndRoses · 05/02/2021 18:53

Wow! I’m impressed. I’m feeling so lazy tonight I’ve ordered bread and milk on UberEats from Sainsbury’s. I feel ashamed now 😆

garlictwist · 05/02/2021 18:54

Our local pizza takeaway costs less than buying an oven pizza from the supermarket (it's about £3.50 for a 12 inch) and it's exceptionally yum. So I don't see it as a waste of money.

@Crystal90567

Is some kind of strange posho humble brag?

The rest of us plebs get takeaways all the time.

I have never had a takeaway delivery. I last had a takeaway in 2002.

I have gone out since then many times for dinner but when at home, just make it myself. It is about the experience for me as much as the food.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 05/02/2021 19:00

I've never ordered takeaway. I've eaten it in other people's houses though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/02/2021 19:01

Dh confirms we’ve never had a takeaway delivered 😲.

Next door have loads of food delivered. Trays of pies, takeaways, insulated bags arrive at lunch time.

That's an odd thing to say. Lots of people can't afford takeaway food, it's very expensive.
HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 05/02/2021 19:04

I never had a home delivery til I left home and went to uni.parents just didn’t do it
Chippy tea you pick up in shop and bring home, yes. Home delivery no.never

JohnMcCainsDeathStare · 05/02/2021 19:08

I have three take-outs this week!

Just cannot face cooking after homeschool and working. At least with shit weather you aren't missing anything.
