Will anyone else miss Trump a bit?

Yes, the guys a complete git. But at a time when the news has been dominated by endless brexit or endless covid, he did supply entertainment value, in 'what an arse, can't believe he said that' sort of way.

I think I'll miss it a bit.

No. He takes the puss out of people with disabilities. Nothing amusing about that.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 19/01/2021 14:38

No, just too dangerous. You make him sound like a harmless but outspoken old man, like Prince Phillip. Fortunately he didn't have the power that Trump held. He's even causing deaths by refusing to accept the vote. Well rid, I'd say.

sadpapercourtesan · 19/01/2021 14:40

The fallout from Trump's presidency is going to be long, litigious and very, very entertaining.

You'll have all the fun, but none of the sheer terror of him having power over millions of people/nuclear weapons/the world stage. Win/win Grin

MacDuffsMuff · 19/01/2021 14:40

Fuck no.

Aelfrid · 19/01/2021 14:40

No. I think we need to stop giving politicians the 'but he's entertaining!' free pass.

lubeybooby · 19/01/2021 14:41

absolutely not

ApolloandDaphne · 19/01/2021 14:44

Definitely not. Not even for a second.

jessym · 19/01/2021 14:44

No.

Trump isn’t a novelty act or a clown. He is, until noon tomorrow, THE ACTUAL PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. That is what has made him so bloody dangerous to the world for the last four years, and why the world will breathe a huge sigh of relief tomorrow when Joe Biden says the words “so help me God”.

Only 26 hours to go....

This. I yearn for a simpler time when politics is boring again and you can go months without having to worry about what political leaders are doimg (that means Bozo going too)

FoolsAssassin · 19/01/2021 14:45

No

bonfireheart · 19/01/2021 14:46

If you need funny distractions YouTube and netflix do comedy specials, don't need a rapist or racist ... also his poor handling of covid and behaviour led to deaths of so many Americans, maybe instead of asking for distraction from covid he is held more accountable.

BearSoFair · 19/01/2021 14:49

No. I find him dangerous, not entertaining.

Jaypreen · 19/01/2021 14:50

I don't like the man but he hasn't been all that bad. in the Middle East, where for decades Western 'experts' and 'diplomats' 'knowingly' insisted that there could be no rapprochement of Arab states and Israel without solving the Israel-Palestinian problem... Trump by-passed that and succeeded. I know that it grates on the sensitivities of many people to acknowledge that Trump might have got a single thing right, but clearly in the Middle East he has.

In regards to the ME what I'm hearing from the Biden/Harris camp is not so encouraging.

Theunamedcat · 19/01/2021 14:52

The idea that he could blow us all up was scary the fact that the twitter account was removed from his control by his own staff members was funny

Jaypreen · 19/01/2021 14:57

he could blow us all up

What are you referring to ?

snowliving · 19/01/2021 14:57

No.
He is very dangerous.
Did you switch the news on at all in the last couple of weeks?

LaMarschallin · 19/01/2021 14:57

What?

No!

surelynotnever · 19/01/2021 15:02

Interesting things are entertaining. News shows are entertainment. The news is just another show, as the song goes.

I have watched the news in the past couple of weeks and its been really interesting, thanks. All that stuff at capitol hill is fascinating.

DS is 11, him and his friends have found him hilarious. Contact memes. I know they'll miss the comedy value.

NobodyPuttsBabyinCorner · 19/01/2021 15:05

surelynotnever · 19/01/2021 15:11

Yeah @NobodyPuttsBabyinCorner that's exactly what I am talking about. He has been a staple conversation between me and my son since he was 3! We even used Trump to help us with learning Gaelic!
We can say, 'what is Trump doing now?' in gaelic Grin

I half understand... I used podcasts about Trumpnuttery as bed time listening. I mean, it was never boring.

Really looking forward to Boring Biden.

AdoptedBumpkin · 19/01/2021 15:12

Perhaps, very slightly, I will miss laughing at his antics.

Jaypreen · 19/01/2021 15:13

He literally incited a riot people died he has control of the military he is a powerful and charismatic man people like to follow him That's very much a matter of opinion. But where's the correlation between that and his potentially causing nuclear Armageddon. Especially considering he's the only president in over thirty years not to start a new war?
