I went out for a long walk and had Spotify making suggestions. This song came up, never heard it before, and it stopped me on my tracks. I had to slow down as I was crying. This song was written in 1974 and I am 50. How have I not come across this song before? The song by the way is Diamonds and Rust by Joan Baez. Has this happened to you and what was the song?

I understand. I had this recently with This women’s work by Kate Bush. I had heard it vaguely before but this time I really listened to it. Beautiful

I love the Blackmore's night version. I have been recently introduced to Joan Baez through choir and love her.

Joan Baez has the most beautiful voice. There is no one else quite like her.

I prefer Judas Priest's version if Diamonds and Rust.
Joan Baez's voice is beautiful in this song though.

I had that with wires. My relative had died a couple of weeks earlier, and I'd been to see him in ITU the previous week. I love the song, but it's a hard assiciation to overlook.

Both songs my step dad used to play loads when I was younger and even now when I hear them they stop me in my tracks. Neither of them are really ‘my kind of music’ either.
