Feeling rather fed up now. 0 letters on TPRo this morning with one hospital and 3 with the other.

And now I have I fear my holiday to Guernsey is going to be cancelled again. Despite the announcement that there will be no need to have swabs or self-isolate people need to complete the travel tracker form and need to have a mobile phone. As confirmed by Guernsey travel department. huh. Thought they wanted to tourists for their economy to make up for last year. Obviously not. Will have to go elsewhere.

@Gally123 - Well my day has not improved, still cannot barely get past the five horrendous ones and I have over 100 waiting to be typed!

I don't understand about your holiday, can't you just fill in the tracker form and take your mobile? Hope you manage to sort it.

@flutterby18 - that's just it - I don't have a mobile.

The instructions from Guernsey people need a mobile and a working camera (don't know anyone who goes on holiday with a non-working camera) but many people in my age group on tours (this is an organised tour) do not seem to have cameras as the age for taking snaps has passed.

Its really weird with Tpro this afternoon - 0 work on both the hospitals I am linked to and I have tried to contact the person who coordinates the work and also the helpdesk but everyone (my two team leaders, the last 3 or 4 people I have used on the helpdesk for queries) are all marked as "away"! Feels like a ghost ship! Could be something like a power cut their end with all systems down but seems weird. So I have emailed the accounts department to see if anyone is there.....

@Gally123 - I do not have work either from Tpro on the hospital I have. Last week my Team Lead said she would catch up me next Wednesday (this Wednesday coming) so wonder if it is something at there end. Just looked and nothing at all. It has never been like that, so wonder if they have some sort of a holiday over there?

@carosel2 - I have not checked yet. I have had my DICT8 pay cheque though, which I thought was quite quick.

Funny but I knew when they had a bank holiday on 17 March and we don't but with the recent ransomware attack and the constant mentioning of it in their letters I just was imaging all sorts!

@Gally123, yes it made me think when there was nothing showing at all as there are certain specialities usually left on mine as no one wants to do them as they are shocking dictations (bit like Dict8! ! lol

Yes there were 4 letters - 3 from the same man - that hung around for ages before being typed. Shame as I need some time off tomorrow and I wanted a good day typing today. Never mind. Just glad to know that it was nothing serious, guess I am just in that frame of mind today. And having no sun does not help, no skiving off to the garden.

@carosel2 - just checked and my pay went in from Tpro on 4 June. It could be as I started with them before you, or my name is alphabetically before yours or perhaps I submitted my invoice before you did (about 8am on 1 June).

@Chrissols - thanks for doing the continued thread (again) - we'd be lost without you!

@Gally123 - Tpro forgot to pay me! said I had been missed. Good job I wasn't relying on it for a standing order, said they would process today.

@carosel2 - I'm surprised as it's not your first payment with them is it? At least they are getting their finger out now and I think their pay date is the 7th of the month normally so only a little late.

I logged on early this morning (couldn't sleep trying to decide what to do about my holiday) anyway there was 0 tasks on both the hospitals. Had to wait awhile before they started work and answered my messages from yesterday. First I was told Kate who does the work assignments is on leave and then later another chap said he could add me to another hospital, which he did - and there were 0 tasks there as well! Managed to type a handful of letters but then had to go out just after 10am so not sure what the situation is like now but I hope for all our sakes some work turns up soon.

@Gally123 - yes I was surprised too and I sent it on time, but perhaps they were rushing with it being a bank holiday for them. My sister has a holiday booked with Tui to Corfu but they saying they can still go even though an amber country and wont refund but travel insurance void, they have to pay £90 each to be tested adding more money on to holiday and have the option of paying for another test when they come home that will allow them 5 days quarantine at this end. They have both had the two vaccines each (I don't understand it all personally) I do feel so sorry for you all that have hols booked with the uncertainty. Tpro have 11 jobs on my hospital at the moment. Dict8 s...te as usual. Can't help wondering where the handful of good docs are. I am getting back bad dictation doctors that were on before lock down so perhaps their clinics are coming back unfortunately as they are the ones blocking my work load

@carosel2 - I find if I get any decent work with DICT8 it is early in the morning, after then is all rubbish.

Just logged back in, yep rubbish DICT8 and about 12 Tpro but only for one hospital the other two are 0.

I booked to go to for a week to Guernsey which is part of the Common Travel area, so no swabs needed, no tests, no quarantine, thought I would be okay but it is the Travel Tracker going out that is the problem, for some reason as it is the CTA it is not needed coming back to UK. I can do it on my laptop before I leave home but there is something at the airport in Guernsey that they told me involves people needing a mobile phone and a working camera! Don't know Guernsey why insists on it. I have to pay the balance in about a week so I either pay and hope it all goes okay and I don't get refused entry to Guernsey (or back to UK!) or I defer to next year and hope the Travel Tracker no longer exists (unlikely I fear) or I book another break with the same company in the UK, but all their UK breaks are only 5 days of which two are travel there and back so not much of a holiday! But better than nothing. It is just having to decide what to do. Once I pay the balance I cannot back our or have refund unless the company cancel for any reason. The company says they cannot advise, they do not know anything about Travel Tracker, when it is needed to be done etc, it is all my decision.

@carosel2 has TUI not offered your sister to change her holiday? We are booked with them for Turkey in October and they have already offered us to change for anywhere and can change to next year or the year after if we want? We are just going to hang on and see how things are nearer the time, but TUI certainly seem to be being fair with us.

Hello everyone.
im thinking of joining DICT8 as a second job to get myself and family through these tough times so to speak. Is it worth doing as an evening job and weekend job as I work full time as a medical secretary. 8p a line is a bit tight especially with the rate of living at the moment. Any advice would be grateful before I sign my evening and weekends away. 🙂
