Good Morning all Dict8 ladies

OP posts:
carosel2 · 28/05/2021 20:09

Oh surely they know what they are doing, don't they???

Just had one hoovering in office while doc dictated and pulled plug out, I thought thank goodness, then they plugged it in again in another corner of office and started it back up again!, I mean why the hell that doc didn't kick the cleaner out I'l never know! how totally rude! unless it was his wife !

We should set up a book of funnies on all weird dictations! Smile

Meha5a · 31/05/2021 16:45

Just purchased a mechanical keyboard, it's a lot heavier than the usual keyboard so does not move around the desk and first impressions are pretty good, apart from figuring out how to turn the lights off the keys 😂😂. Hopefully this will help my fingers which seem to get more painful as the years go by !!!

carosel2 · 01/06/2021 18:28

Would like to scream my chuffing head off at the shocking dictation today, nothing is moving as the when one task gets fathomed out it is replaced with the same s......te!!!!! aaaaaarrrrghhhhhhhh

danblack87 · 01/06/2021 20:06

Can we add the above to @Carousel2 Funny book?

carosel2 · 01/06/2021 22:13

@danblack87 -🤣🤣OMG! 50 plus tasks and none of them moving only to be replaced with more crap! Even proof readers must
be avoiding them when they are roped in to try and get shut. Im on wine now! 🍷🍷🍷so chilled haha. Needed one of those today!. Ive made about £10 all day. Its disgraceful really. They want a big kick up their a...es!!! Oops im getting carried away now, had too many vinos but really they must wonder why their work is not being returned quickly or why its so many time stamps on it. Their work will be left by the secretary but we are doing the same. Do they honestly think we are going to jump at that shocking dictation, id rather live off cheese on toast for week than get stressed with that rubbish. Cheers me dears! 😁🥂

Cherryblossom114 · 01/06/2021 23:41

Well I had a go today been a newbie and began thinking maybe I need a referral to ENT for a syringe. Could just about make head nor tail of what was being said. Typed a whole line only to have it changed. 😥 One letter had about three lines and I finished up with 6 #notes

Gally123 · 02/06/2021 07:59

@carosel2 - that is why I have TPro as well so when DICT8 is rubbish I have something else to turn to and not get stressed about the lack of earning potential. Tpro has its downsides, at the moment the work level is low since they suffered cyber attacks on their IT systems (no secret as it is printed at the bottom of some of the letters) but when work levels get low they add you to another hospital with backlog - on Friday I got added to yet another hospital (now withdrawn) with letters going back to April and my combined amount of letters waiting to be typed for three hospitals was over 1,600!

@Cherryblossom114 - sorry you have had a hard time of it so early. Don't be afraid to use the reject button and return any tasks to the list that might cause you too many problems. It can be a little daunting at first to be sitting at home, alone, with no one to ask, or notes to check words, diagnosis etc.

danblack87 · 02/06/2021 09:02

@Carousel2: Hope you are not hung-over from vino yesterday ... I haven't dared to look yet. Got a message that I missed a word out in a dictation (Slap on the wrist) ... I wasn't surprised as I was thoroughly pissed off with the dictation yesterday LAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggghiiiiiiiinggggggggggg Shock Wink.

danblack87 · 02/06/2021 09:04

Today I am thinking - beautiful day to be in the garden (dare I look at the work on Dict8) Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... Can my bank balance stand a day off: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,. probably not. Take a look, see how it goes LOL xxx (Me: Talking to myself and daring to share Blush.

Gally123 · 02/06/2021 09:20

@danblack87 - when the weather is nice like this and the sun is in my back garden in the afternoon I go easy on myself - read a chapter (approx) in the garden, type one or two short letters, read a bit in the garden, type one or two short letters etc. I find it works out quite well plus there is always the evening (with no sun) to type a few letters if bank balance needs it (and it does).

Meha5a · 02/06/2021 09:42

I haven't bothered for a few days was finding my task list had five terrible tasks that were staying put while the task amount was going down around them ? I left it for 20 minutes at one point, how does that work ?

@carosel2 🤣🤣

Personally I think this is the worst I have ever known the dictation to be - too quiet, terrible pronunciation (especially of drug names and some procedures) and absolutely no bloody idea of how to make a clinical letter make any sense !!!!

Gally123 · 02/06/2021 09:55

@Meha5 - your task list stays the same while the total tasks goes down is because some [favoured] people are given different/better/nicer/easier tasks. I found mine was like that for the whole day once - every time I checked my 5 on offer were the same dreadful five. The whole day.

carosel2 · 02/06/2021 11:15

@danblack87 - I've had a good sleep! Smile but back to the same slog this morning, can't believe they are still there but with less on screen, @Gally123 as you say somebody must be getting the cream here! Think it's Tpro today!
@Meha5a - I absolutely so pity their patients!
@Cherryblossom114 - don't worry we have all been there and really still are even with years of experience. I am sure they are going to slate me big time after yesterday's performance from me, just lost the will to live. Ended up taking tasks to try and earn and get rid of some of them hoping clearer ones would appear in their place but they didn't. They were short letters and my note box had more questions in there than lines on the letter itself Confused

danblack87 · 02/06/2021 12:59

To all: I think what we see on the screen 'tasks available' say 140 ' is all specialities so we can only pick up the task list (5) shown for us to type in our specialties!! I am not sure it is anything to do with 'cream'!!??

Gally123 · 02/06/2021 13:19

@danblack87 - no, I do not think the available number of tasks we see displayed is with regard to all specialties - when you think of how many specialties there are, plus all the hospitals, it would run into thousands. When I first started with DICT8 and had one specialty I would often see over 300 tasks listed as available. With the numbers now so low it has to be just in our specialties and that some typists are more favoured than others. Of course, if you have more than one specialty if might be that you see 5 of the same specialty and it is the tasks in the other specialties that are moving.

Poppy379 · 02/06/2021 13:21

My thoughts exactly, @danblack87.

carosel2 · 02/06/2021 13:22

@danblack87 - I wouldn't say that I see everybody's tasks showing on my list, otherwise I think there would be hundreds showing.

However, thinking about it if I have more than one speciality (which I do) the number of tasks showing on my account will include them and if a transcriber only has one speciality which is one of mine then they will see them only in their box and be able to type them before I can get to them as my list is being blocked by the backdated crap from the speciality that is pending

danblack87 · 02/06/2021 13:27

@Gally123: I agree your comments seem sound in a different light. Bit depressed --- Doc didn't fill my prescription correctly so been off anti-depressants for 7 days and everyone knows you just can't stop like that - I am knocked completely off-Kilter and I am Sorry DICT8 I missed one bloody word out of a dictation LOL first negative feedback in year!!!!!!! I do wish I was a 'favoured typist' [shock}

Cherryblossom114 · 03/06/2021 15:36

I see what you ladies mean about them feedbacks 🤔 encouraging - not!
Better day yesterday and today chucking back the craps - good advise thanks all 💝
Got a called from Tpro they are looking for fulltimers. Applied earlier in the year. 5 days a week min hrs 6 per day. My they must be busy was my thought. They will send me link with a test. Talk about waiting for a bus and they all come at once. Tpro or Dictators (DICT8)lol. VRs can be tricky !!!

@Gally123

Gally123 · 03/06/2021 15:44

@Cherryblossom114 - on the whole the quality of the dictation is better with Tpro and the feedback is done in a very nice manner. The pay is less but once you get into a pattern it is fine.

Cherryblossom114 · 03/06/2021 16:44

@Galley123
👍 funny I was thinking the same

Having trouble with numbers 5 goats, five goats each time im thinking ive got now but seems not !!

Meha5a · 03/06/2021 17:18

It must be the heat today that is making these doctors all sound like they haven't got a clue what they're dictating 😂😂😂

carosel2 · 03/06/2021 18:02

@Cherryblossom114 - I think you will like working for Tpro, they are extremely pleasant and although the rate isn't as good, once you get to grips with it, it becomes second nature and any feedback is given in a good way. My Teamlead is lovely. At least you can swap in between Dict8 and Tpro and Tpro depending which hospital you get tend to have enough work on if you want to work weekends too. Good Luck! Smile
