Is there a particular present you bought for someone this year that you just can’t wait to give them?
And if so what is it and why?

My 3 year old DD has been raving about a puppet show for so long. Top of her Christmas list and desperate for one. I’ve got her a great wooden one and some lovely puppets to go with it. I can’t wait for her to see it! It’s DSs first Christmas so I can’t wait for him to see the presents and have some new toys to play with even if he doesn’t really get it.
I’ve got my parents some house stuff I think they’ll love and all of our parents framed pictures of the kids that we took during an impromptu photoshoot during 10 day isolation 😂.

@Nutrigrainygoodness

Bloom and wild are amazing. The flowers are beautiful and last for 3-4 weeks. Dsis bought a subscription for my birthday and I loved it

My DS who is 2 is getting a train table with little wooden trains & people I'm planning on setting it all up for him on Christmas Eve, I can't wait to see his little face
DS1 is getting a push along wooden fire engine, he turns 1 on Christmas Day so he's getting a birthmas cake too

Scarby9 · 18/12/2020 22:14

A guinea-pig facemask. As in, a mask with pictures of guinea-pigs on, rather than a mask for a guinea-pig.
Perfect for the peson I have bought it for.

The Joni and Gran Gran photo book I've had to make for my 2 year old! All he's asked for is a Jojo and Gran Gran story book, as in CBeebies, and they're not publishing any until next year! So I've had to do my own!

@ThePug

A Stickman toy for my 2 year old. He's getting loads of great presents but I know he'll be over the moon with this as he loves watching Stickman. When we went to choose a Christmas tree he found a stick on the floor and said 'Stickman ... back to the family tree', found a tree and carefully placed it in it Smile
My 2 year old has recently got into Stickman, Gruffalo etc. Where did you get a toy, if you don't mind me asking?
eleflump · 18/12/2020 22:38

They have a Stickman soft toy on Amazon or at Waterstones or WH Smith Smile

BlooBagoo · 18/12/2020 22:47

This for DD. It's going to be a bitch to wrap but I can't wait to see her face even before she opens it.

Its a table present for ds1, so just something cheap and silly

Its a stress ball and it says

‘No I won’t keep calm and you can fuck off’

Its so him (he is 21)

funnyoldonion · 18/12/2020 23:03

Oh @MonkeyPuddle I just had to immediately purchase some happy spoons, thank you for sharing.

I am the most excited to give my DH a handmade mohair bear as a tribute to his best friend who sadly took his own life this year 😢

Grimbot · 18/12/2020 23:16

My 3 year old. He has asked Santa for a police car and has been asking for it since October. Whenever you mention Christmas he lights up talking about his police car. I’ve got him a lights and sounds playmobil one and he is going to be so excited when he sees it. I can’t wait to see his little face. It’s the first Christmas he’s properly understood what’s going on and experiencing his excitement second hand is just brilliant.

Christmashottubintheshed · 18/12/2020 23:52

This is lovely to read, there will be some very excited children (and adults!) next week.

ElizaLaLa · 19/12/2020 00:26

I'm hopefully giving the gift of sleep. I'm giving a weighted blanket.

SanFranBear · 19/12/2020 00:39

One of those incredible pet portraits for DD, 11 (our cat is incredibly well spoken, so he had to be all dressed up... she calls our cat her son and adores him more than anything in this world. Hes had a few health worries this year and whilst hes now getting the right treatment, she's been worried sick. I know she's going to cry - I almost did when it arrived. It is perfect

Lovely idea for a thread, OP - thank you!

ElizaLaLa · 19/12/2020 00:58

Don't you mean purrrfect? 😁

Bearfrills · 19/12/2020 01:25

A potato in a box for DD, aged 9. I know exactly what she'll say when she opens it and I can hear her in my head saying it.

She mentioned the main present she's asked for (a Switch) and I pretended to not know what one is. I told her that I asked the man in the shop what this years number one bestseller is and he said potatoes. She told me that was a fruit and veg shop, not a toy shop. I told her that its too late, I've already sent Santa a potato in a box for her main gift.

lillylemons · 19/12/2020 02:45

dd 13 drawing tablet because it's not the one she expecting it's an upgraded version to the one she showed me.

ds 3 some light-up balls It might sound silly but he will love them he loves balls and things that light up can't wait to see his reaction.

housemdwaswrong · 19/12/2020 02:55

Baileys chocolates! My mum's last Christmas that she can engage with I think, as her dementia progresses. She can't follow the plot of a film anymore, or a book and smellies aren't much use. Limited options, but she will be more delighted with baileys chocolates than anything else I could have bought her. She'll sneak them when she goes out to 'tidy' the kitchen or goes to the loo. :) Oddly, she won't forget where she puts them I bet ;) Simple pleasures.

AdditionalCharacter · 19/12/2020 03:52

Bought my friend some wooden drink coasters that have swear words on them. She is known for her sweary rants, she will love them!

housemdwaswrong · 19/12/2020 04:02

Made me laugh. Excellent. Sums up this year too. :)

Wowthisisreal · 19/12/2020 07:26

@MonkeyPuddle also immediately ordered some spoons. I want to give them to EVERYONE and I'm already sorted for all presents Confused

MacDuffsMuff · 19/12/2020 07:35

Driving lessons for DS. He has no idea.

Toomanyparsnips · 19/12/2020 07:40

For my DH, a weekend away somewhere really special we've been eying up for a while (fairly local). He's going to be a bit cross at how much I've spent but we both really, really need it and he'll love it really. I'm assuming he's going to take me anyway!

Toomanycats99 · 19/12/2020 07:45

My youngest has some se sparky issues and loves being snuggled up. I bought her a teddy daddy set cover set.

Last night she asked me for a fleecy duvet set like her pyjamas so I think she will be happy.

Oldest is getting a new phone - I had given her a choice of other bits for Xmas and my hand me down phone or new phone. She chose other bits plus hand me down.however I ended up going halves with her dad and getting phone as well so I think (hope!) she will be happy!

Yutes · 19/12/2020 07:48

An echo clock for my parents!
A gift for DP
and the beers I bought for my brother. I really hope they love them!
