What little bit of luxury do you have for every day?

I’d love to hear.

I love my cashmere snood/scarf. I’m a teacher and have to teach with the windows open at the moment so it keeps me warm and feels amazing. 💗

What do others have that is a little bit of luxury for every day?

Yes Knittingnanny , I was very young in the 80s. Gobbolino the Witch's cat was a particular fave, I really related.

@Europilgrim

In honour of this thread I had a bath with eucalyptus oil last night. Delicious! I had a bath with lavender bath oil and then went to kiss ds goodnight and he said "mummy, you smell sooooo lovely". Grin
Cute!

Love this thread! And love your leggings OP, ignore the negativity.

Mine are:
Penhaligons perfume
Always clean sheets and goosedown
Real Christmas tree
Mohair throws
Proper French cheese
Hot chocolate and chai latte
A really rich hair mask left on for ages
Lovely zoflora scents
My pony - the ultimate selfish indulgence, but completes my life

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/12/2020 19:29

The smoked Earl Grey is so lovely.

FestiveStrop · 14/12/2020 19:40

Omg just looked at the leggings link and they're great. I always tend to layer oversized stretchy tops that covered my bum and upper thighs in the same colour as leggings if I wear them.

They're on my list.

Goingdooolally · 14/12/2020 19:49

This thread is so heartwarming 💗

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie get them! They’re the softest things ever. Great with a big chunky jumper.

In honour of this thread I have decided to treat myself to some more luxurious every day underwear. Also at work I have an old pencil case with biros. I am going to ask for a lovely new one with gorgeous pens for my Christmas 💗

I am also going to give my lovely colleague a little gift and a card. We don’t normally exchange gifts but she’s been a great support this term through Covid (we teach in a senior school). So a treat for her, some every day luxury.

Thanks for the leggings love GrinSmile I know it’s sad but I was so upset this morning when I read that nasty comment. Three days until end of term and I’m a bit fragile I think!

@evilharpy thanks for the oil tips. I’ll check them out. I popped into Holland & Barrett today but they only had single oils.

Single oils are good too and you can always make your own blends by adding X drops of each to a diffuser. I love eucalyptus on its own.

Oh also look for Ellia oils on amazon (I first found them in the local posh garden centre). They have a few really lovely blends including one called "Get Going" which I use a lot.

Thought of another one - my sheepskin slippers. Mine are from Shepherd. I love them so much, they make my feet all warm and happy. No other slippers will ever be good enough.

Anchoredowninanchorage · 14/12/2020 20:39

Olaplex & ground coffee, not in same cup

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 14/12/2020 20:41

Another vote for Molton Brown here. I use the hand cream every single day.

Loveyourideas · 14/12/2020 20:43

I love having morning coffee and artisanal sourdough toast with lashings of fresh butter. DH and I get on our computers and happily munch in companionable silence, starting on emails for the day. We are trying to cut back gluten, so this is our morning luxury. We really didn’t get a chance to do this pre-Covid, and I really value his company

TheMildManneredMilitant · 14/12/2020 20:58

I also love my fitflop sheepskin slippers. They were pricey but I needed something with support as I'm not wearing proper shoes much and they are so cosy and comfortable.
Kindle is one of my top buys of the year. I was dubious but it's got me reading again.

Sincere apologies for putting a downer on the thread, but can I please say: eucalyptus and some other oils are poisonous to pets

I would hate for someone's pet to get into trouble.

Yes they are! Lots of them are like lavender, citrus, tea tree etc. I have a cat but I use those oils only in rooms he doesn't go into with the doors shut (he spends 99% of his time sleeping in the spare room upstairs, he's old and knackered).
TiddyTid · 14/12/2020 22:43

My view out the front window, our wobbly tiny old cottage and it's cosy feel and old beams dating back 400 years and wonder what it was like every day to live in when it was built, my big bed and cotton sheets and DH bringing me a frothy coffee in the morning whilst the radio is on catching up with events.

What little bit of luxury do you have for every day?
middleager · 14/12/2020 22:57

I have just bought myself a Velvetiser for Christmas so I can make lovely hot chocolate.
I've wanted one for two years and kept saying I could not justify the cost, but given how hard these months have been, I thought sod it and bought one on a Black Fri deal.

StarlightLady · 15/12/2020 05:11

Undies! Nice lingerie every day. It makes you feel that little bit special when you get dressed each morning.

ficklemissfickle · 15/12/2020 07:11

This is a lovely thread & made me realise how much we all need & deserve a little bit of luxury every day, mine is my daily cappuccino & a weekly podcast that makes me properly laugh out loud!! I'm now going to think about more luxurious things to add to my life!!!

Icenii · 15/12/2020 09:06

I'm hoping I'll get some silk scrunchies for Christmas.

BlueTongueSkink · 15/12/2020 09:26

@TiddyTid What a lovely view!

Goingdooolally · 15/12/2020 13:08

@TiddyTid gorgeous view!!!

Any tips on milk frothers? I think I need one in my life! Grin

Wax melts and a chanel-alike perfume that smells just like it.

BertieBotts · 15/12/2020 13:14

Ground coffee

Real butter :)

AllDoneIn · 15/12/2020 13:26

Oooh I love this thread! For me atm my treats are lighting the fire every night, really nice scented candles, fancy-pants leave in hair conditioner, good coffee and a weekly sourdough loaf. Simple pleasures really. I'm going to mine this thread for ideas.
