What little bit of luxury do you have for every day?

I’d love to hear.

I love my cashmere snood/scarf. I’m a teacher and have to teach with the windows open at the moment so it keeps me warm and feels amazing. 💗

What do others have that is a little bit of luxury for every day?

@NowImmeagain Older & Wider with Jenny Eclair & Judith Holder, aimed at middle aged women really. It's a Friday treat.

Ah, great, I've read a couple of her books and loved them, so will check her podcast out. Thanks.

@InvincibleInvisibility I have some experience of this and it is so tough. Self esteem is so important for these kids . I remember being so sad at the first diagnosis though. A sympathetic learning environment is key. Are you able to look elsewhere for schooling? We really praise effort and talk a lot about those that have succeeded with additional needs. Feel free to PM me. 💗 In the meantime you need a wee bit of luxury in your life!

@InvincibleInvisibility

Thanks OP. My 9 year old has just been diagnosed with ADHD and dyspraxia and we're all struggling. Not helped by him being in a stupidly tough school. Only 3 days of school this week but 8 tests! And all tests count towards their term and then yearly grade which affects what secondary school you can go to.

The pressure is enormous. I need to do something nice for myself but my brain is too full to think what that could be.

Flowers as if this year hasn't been difficult enough. That's a lot to have to deal with.

I really hope you can find a way to do something nice for yourself, you absolutely deserve it. Even if it's just takeaway coffee and a slice of cake from a lovely cafe to enjoy during a quiet fifteen minutes.

Nice hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Baileys with ice and a splash of milk.
Get to lounge in bed til 9 30 many mornings. That's the best one of all when it's so bloody cold!

@InvincibleInvisibility Flowers Flowers that’s going to be rough, especially on top of a year like this. Wishing you all strength & hope. Is there something you can build into your day to give you a few moments of luxury, & some inner peace & quiet? I hope so.

L'occitane Almond shower oil first thing in the morning. Lovely.
If only they would do a perfume in the same scent.

InvincibleInvisibility · 16/12/2020 10:10

Thanks everyone. I do need to build in something for myself. Ive asked for some books for Christmas- hopefully that will help. I'll keep reading the thread for more ideas Flowers

Our beautiful Villeroy & Boch bathrooms, courtesy of my Dad's very nice discount at the showroom he managed before he retired

A kind and loving DH even though he drives me crackers

The gorgeous cake studio he built for me that makes me happy every time I open the door

My piano

Kissthepastrychef · 16/12/2020 10:12

Oh and my massive audible collection that I listen to on the way to work, I love it 😻

Knittingnanny · 16/12/2020 10:36

Holly, I’m not sure about the high collar, it might annoy me and get make up on it?

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 16/12/2020 11:20

Ah yes...I don’t wear foundation so it’s not an issue for me but I can see how that would be annoying.

poppet31 · 16/12/2020 19:42

I have an iced coffee every morning. I buy the pre made ones from Morrison's, 90p each. I started it during lockdown but now I'm a little bit addicted. I drink it before my toddler gets up and it's a little moment of calm to start the day off. Completely unnecessary I know.

@SinkGirl

Do you knit and sell your scarves are beautiful

I like treating myself to little luxuries!
In this very moment I am sitting at my new desk at home, smelling of Chanel Mademoiselle, I wear my pink Uggs slippers, I just applied Molton Brown hand cream, I have a cashmere shawl on (it sits on my chair for when I open the windows) and I am about to drink an espresso made by my coffee maker. I feel SO spoiled.
I am considering buying a luxury pen but I need to 'feel' it and with Covid and everything I don't want to go to a shop for such a silly need!

OverByYer · 17/12/2020 15:08

L’occitane shower gel
Bumble and Bumble shampoo and shower gel
Rupert Blamire mug
Birkenstock slippers

NorbertMeubles · 17/12/2020 15:11

Perfume and candles

Sue9008 · 17/12/2020 15:22

I would say cafe coffee everyday. I am going out for a little walk during lunch time and on the way back, I dropped by coffee shop and buy coffee everyday. Little treat. It gets me through the day.

Mediavalmiss · 17/12/2020 15:55

This is a lovely thread. I like to get up half an hour before the rest of the family just to have a cup of tea and a few minutes peace. Then I have a shower and get them up.
I have just subscribed to Older and Wider. Thank you for the recommendation @ficklemissfickle

NowImmeagain · 17/12/2020 16:44

I've subscribed to Older and Wider too, great tip, I'm loving it!
