What little bit of luxury do you have for every day?

I’d love to hear.

I love my cashmere snood/scarf. I’m a teacher and have to teach with the windows open at the moment so it keeps me warm and feels amazing. 💗

What do others have that is a little bit of luxury for every day?

@myhobbyisouting

Oh god. Those leggings are awful 🙈 I think I'm totally unsuitable for this thread...hate molton brown and hate the leggings
Then why are you here ? Rather than being unpleasant about what people regard as a luxury why not just stay away.
birdseedpie · 14/12/2020 07:54

@evilharpy they call it nutmeg now but it's the same.

PurBal · 14/12/2020 07:55

Hand soap and loo roll. Those are my every day luxuries, the things I don't skimp on.

vjg13 · 14/12/2020 07:55

Definitely my high thread count bedding, bought a few years ago from JL but so worth it. Also just got a cheap weighted blanket and love that too on the bed.

Chloebowy · 14/12/2020 07:58

Sofitel room perfume for my bedroom
New books
Merino socks

Europilgrim · 14/12/2020 08:09

I agree about the Kindle. I had one years ago but never really loved it. Then I bought a new one on Black Friday and it has a backlight. I always wake up early and now I can read, cosy in bed without waking up DH.

I don't drink a lot of coffee but I have a bar in my appartment building and now that I am working from home, I have an after lunch espresso almost every day. It's nice to have a chat with the barista too and find out all the gossip!

Europilgrim · 14/12/2020 08:10

Just thought of another one - Persephone books! Always lovely.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 14/12/2020 08:18

An beautiful hardback, dotted notebook and roller ball pens. I use them to plan and journal and I get a thrill everytime I put pen to paper.

@Goingdooolally

I’ve just bought a little tea light oil burner. Any oil recommendations? Nothing sweet. I prefer more forest, smokey , cosy smells.
This Tisserand blend is lovely and quite wintery.

Have a look in Homesense, they always have decent quality essential oils incuding Tisserand for really good prices.

@NurseNancyandDoctorDavid

A big squirt of Penhaligon's Halfeti, Neom candles, and cashmere wrist warmers.

Turtle doves, make recycled cashmere gloves, wrist warmers, neckwarmers, and scarves, I've got lots of pairs and can really recommend. Smile

I'd love to hear some recommendations please!

Always Halfeti is devine! I may wear it myself today

OhCormoranAllYeFaithful · 14/12/2020 08:29

I have a bath most evenings

Wingingitsince2018 · 14/12/2020 09:36

Rituals deodorant - smells divine and actually works well too

NibbleQueen · 14/12/2020 11:56

I get a craft chocolate subscription every month. I love it.

Since WFH, loose leaf teas from a from a teapot.

Getting the very best groceries on ocado, eg Ortiz and Brindisa

My memory foam pillow.

Going for a short walk in the afternoon to replace the afternoon coffee break I would have if in the office

I love the idea of pretty ceramics for everyday meals. Are there any recommendations?

FestiveStrop · 14/12/2020 12:08

Books and books and books. I have more than I should in physical form, kindle and audio. Often the same one in three forms depending on how I want to read. They've been there for me consistently since childhood and the Storyteller magazine/books and tapes, anyone remember those? :) felt as close as possible to being read to at night.

They got me through a less than ideal childhood so I feel little guilt spending on them now, and far more joy.

FestiveStrop · 14/12/2020 12:10

And secondly an extortionate beauty calendar Xmas Blush.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/12/2020 18:05

I've been dithering about whether to get those leggings for at least a year, but £40 seems such a lot of money for leggings.

Yes to books - especially lovely fat hardback cookery books, and beautiful editions of childhood favourites.

I'm currently wearing a huge soft plaid scarf, and it feels very luxurious. It was from Joules and on offer, so not expensive, but very comforting.

In honour of this thread I had a bath with eucalyptus oil last night. Delicious!

Knittingnanny · 14/12/2020 18:30

I remember the storytime magazines and the little storyteller for younger children
I bought them for my children in the 80’s and reused them in my infant classrooms if my voice needed a break at the end of the day for storytime!

Knittingnanny · 14/12/2020 18:32

My luxury is fresh raspberries on my yoghurt any time of the year
Always wear perfume every day, Obsession, since my eldest was a baby.
How do you keep your cashmere looking good? Any I’ve had has gone bobbly quickly

Europilgrim · 14/12/2020 18:35

In honour of this thread I had a bath with eucalyptus oil last night. Delicious!
I had a bath with lavender bath oil and then went to kiss ds goodnight and he said "mummy, you smell sooooo lovely". Grin

reluctantbrit · 14/12/2020 18:43

Using Body Butter as handcream, a lot better than all the typical handcreams

Having a nice pot of tea with loose, good quality tea in the morning.

Dowser · 14/12/2020 18:46

Good quality chocolate
Life is too short to eat cheap stuff

TheClitterati · 14/12/2020 18:49

Gorgeous perfume.
Naice herbal teas.
Possum/merino gloves & hat (in winter).
A swim in the sea (most days)
My incredible mattress.

Dowser · 14/12/2020 18:53

@Goingdooolally

I have one and I’ll raise you one
And probably will buy another two
Love them
Stop the light on a colour and sit in front of it for about 5 mins with meditation music
Very healing.
Colour therapy is recognition as a form of healing
Green for eg is a good one for abdomen problems.

Dowser · 14/12/2020 18:57

I’ve been practicing gratitude each day
Yes I’m so grateful for a lovely warm, comfortable house to come home to
Nice things in it running hot water

And good quality chocolat

thegcatsmother · 14/12/2020 19:14

F&M Smokey Earl Grey tea
The Linen Press bedding (now gone into liquidation sadly)
L'Occitane Verbena shower gel and bath stuff
Cashmere bed socks
Cashmere snood (bought in Stockholm)
Royal Copenhagen handleless mugs
Clinique skin care

A relative works for Estee Lauder, so I've received Jo Malone boxes for Christmas. Haven't used them yet....
