The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

Gosh I haven't had kippers for years. Used to have them for breakfast in hotels as a kid with scrambled egg as that's what Df had

Morning all, baby is sleeping better but up at 5am! I've finished work for the year, and I'm heading into tier 3 this weekend. As I live on the boarder of tier 3/2 my mummy friends are in tier 2 so I've again lost my support group. 😢 I know it's not forever and I get the bigger picture, just was hoping for some socially distanced time with friends. 2 have agreed to meet me for walking (Which we've done all throughout lockdown 2) but they are meeting for a lunch after (following covid rules) so most aren't walking now, just feel cut off yet again, and living in a village where we've had one case all year I'm so frustrated (and I get why they do counties not area). Can I have a hot chocolate please @sashh and is there any pain au chocolat left?

@crazycatlady7 well you are having a rough time. Hand over baby and because life is a bit shit lets have chocolate for breakfast.

Fernando can do some amazing hot chocolates with nut flavours and cream toppings.

Florence has pain au chocolate and gateaux and I'll make porridge with chocolate sprinkles.

Obviously there is chocolate cereal and boxes or various chocolates.

I’ve got 1 day left to work next week. I’m looking forward to it as I’m not normally at work on the last day before Christmas. And we finish at 4.

We do have swimming today, and even if we stay in tier 3 it will continue during term time. So he gets 30mins swimming with his friends (socially distanced) still. But it's not the same as having a chat with the other mums over a coffee.

Is Fernando making hot chocolate still @sashh? I remember mention of vodka hot chocolate which would really hit the spot on this gloomy day.

I missed this morning- DH made banana pancakes.

Things seem so much worse now we are in tier 4, yet 1-2 miles up the road is tier 2.... I'm happy for Christmas at home with my DS and DH no dramas but going to struggle without my time with my mummy friends in tier 2.... 😢

Back to breakfast, well I think we need something a little healthier so I'm suggesting fresh fruit and yoghurt.

Florence will be baking fruit so fruit muffins, cherry cakes, lemon drizzle etc.

Fernando can make some great mocktails and fruit cocktails.

Fresh fruit and yogurt sounds very sensible @sashh. Are there nuts and seeds to sprinkle on too?

This morning I think breakfast sandwiches will fill a gap.

Sausage butties, bacon rolls, eggs in a toast sandwich.

@MinnieMountain do you want sauce? There is the usual brown and red but Florence has made a yummy apple and onion chutney.
