The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

We were on holiday in Cornwall so spent the heatwave on the beach so was nice for us. Not sure I would have liked it if we were home!

Now I want Yorkshires! I remember my SD saying he used to have them cold with jam when he was younger.

Yes Yorkies have a lot of potential.

When I was a kid we had the huge one before the Sunday roast (which was more often Chicken than beef) and my mum would then make small ones to eat later or for breakfast.

The batter is identical for pancakes so I don't know why people baulk at sweet things with YPs and savory with pancakes.

It's been a while since I visited the cafe, hope you are all well!

I'm going to have a mooch and see if I can remember how everything works and then I'm thinking some warm toast with butter and some chamomile tea with honey.

I’d ask if Fernando is making proper cocktails but I’m going in the sea later, so better stick to mock tails and pain au raisin for now.

Water feature is beautiful! Glad to see it developing.

It's looking so lovely that I may set up camp in the garden to work. I'm WFH this week and hardly anyone is in so it's quiet. I do have a coffee planned tomorrow with colleague so that we have had interaction with people this week.

Luvvies special opening

Morning all, @Luvvies is having a bad night / morning in A and E so can you make her welcome?

I'm going to make toast, bacon sandwiches and maybe some sausages.

Fernando is making coffees with liqueurs and has a brandy for @Luvvies husband to take home.

Florence is making madeleines and the kitten bees, well they like this warm weather.

I'm finally home! Left mum to her own devices in her own home as that is what she wanted. And she was getting very grumpy. As was i.

Going to try for an hours sleep before I get up again to work.

I've sent a long message to my brother and sister in law, both retired, to say the next time it's on them. Trouble is I live nearby.

I will definitely be having that bacon for breakfast

IRL it's my birthday today. I was going to have tapas with a couple of friends but one has covid so can't make it so I'm opening the cafe.

Help yourselves to a variety of tapas, sherry and wine.

I have olives, patatas bravos, croquetas, olives, chorizo in red wine, stuffed vine leaves and of course some cava.

Cava and tapas for breakfast feels decadent. Perfect for a day out in London with DS And I can play with the kitten bees whilst I nibble.

Are the bumble cats hibernating yet?

The bumble cats have little knitted jumpers to keep warm.

I've been, basically doing not much. I'm really suprised my friend has covid, she has been so careful, her workplace got jabs early, we had a bubble but when she visited she came with her own drinking glass, towel and hand gel.

Whoops, sorry I got carried away by half term and DS’s birthday.

I’m pottering along as usual. My bosses sold their company but it sounds like I’m safe in my current role (which I love).

Mine has insisted on putting our Christmas tree up. DH is fussing about whether or not he can go skiing this weekend so I’ll hide here today.

I would happily hand him over but he wants no one but me 😭 he looks so poorly. Got GP today so hopefully know if it's a nasty cold or something more serious.

He has enjoyed helping put up the lights tho.
