The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

There is butter and a variety of jams, the apricot is lovely.

@MinnieMountain I went back to bed at 3.30... DH took over. We are now all late for work/childcare but I'm just so tired 😭

Well I woke up with an urge for walnut cake so Florence is whirling around the kitchen making cakes and buns (some with veg to be a little healthier).

Fernando is experimenting with fruit and herb teas.

Ooo walnut cake- can I grab a slice to go? I fancy a lovely light sponge cake. And chocolate but think that's the tiredness

It's gray and overcast here so I think churros and hot chocolate will do maybe some porridge if you want something more substantial.

Well a it is Eid I thought we might head to Iran for a Persian breakfast.

So Persian flat breads, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber slices, jams, olives and eggs cooked in a variety of ways,

For authenticity I will include Kaleh pache but I'll put it in the slow cooker to keep warm but don't feel bad if no one eats it.

Morning, I will stick to the breads.

It's so wet outside! Hoping it dries up at some point so we can get in the garden but not holding much hope.

There is a pizza take away near me which is owned by an Iranian couple, they do a fabulous Iranian bread.

Well I think we need pancakes for today, traditional flat ones, American style, drop scones, Scotch pancakes with a selection of sweet and savory toppings.

Pancakes yay! We often make banana ones here.

The kitten bees look like they are mastering helping.

@sashh that sounds amazing. We don't get much takeaway here in our village. But we do have the fish and chip van at lunch time today. There is a farmers market I may try to get to today.

I've had a lay in as DS was up normal time but have felt sick the last two mornings with migraines. Feel like blaming the weather but I'm sure it's work related stress.

I’ve been missing Indian takeaway as most of the “Indians” in our city are run by Pakistanis. We can have it now Ramadan is over.

@MinnieMountain I do have tablets I can take thankfully but they make me sleepy so I avoid unless I really need to.

I'm popping the kettle on and making hot chocolate as I'm hoping DS will go back to bed 🤞 it's DH's turn for a lay in. Can't help but want to wake him as he's snoring away and I can hear him in another room over the white noise. I've been up 1-2 and now since 4. Just would like sleep.
