I thought it would be nice to start a thread for metal loving MNetters after speaking to @ApplesandAardvarks @NastyBlouse @IndemMUND about missed concerts. Great to find fellow Rammstein fans and metalheads!

Please join in if you love metal and enjoy going to concerts!

It'd be great if anyone wants to share info on new releases they've enjoyed, concert announcements, doesn't know many metallers and wants to link up with people going to a particular gig.

Let us know the last gig you went to and the ones you've missed this year or what new albums you've been enjoying recently!

The last gig I went to was 3teeth and I've been listening to the new songs from The Pretty Reckless and the new Katatonia release.

Hello! As you probably guessed from my user name, I am a metal head. Last gig was those damn crows in feb this year.

@Motorheadmum great username and welcome! I think there are a lot metallers and goths lurking amongst the sensible folk of MN who can feed 89 people for a week with one chicken (from Aldi)!

@TurquoiseDragon what you're going through sounds tough, hope the music is getting you through

I'm also working from home right now, and I miss the cameraderie in the office. But, on the plus side I have Planet Rock on all day. If I hear anything new, I jot down who it is and look it up on Spotify later on.

I hadn't heard much of the Pretty Reckless before, and I've been hearing their song "25" which I quite like.

@TurquoiseDragon I don't recommend seeing them live but their songs are nice to listen to! I do wish there were more strong female fronted bands though!

@DK123 I agree they're nice to listen to, and also that we need more female fronted bands. I think they're slowly coming through.

Well, If I do get to learn to play the drums next year, maybe I'll get to join a band. That would be fun

I'm always looking for more lady-led bands after realising my playlists are a bit of a sausage-fest!

Unleash the Archers and Battle Beast are a couple of my favourite newish bands with female vocals. The former released a decent album this year.

I saw them at Download 2016, and I managed to wriggle myself down to the front (ish - I was about 4th row from the front). I could feel the ehat from the flames, and I was massively amused by all the big young blokes around me making sure I stayed upright.

Oh for an edit button... ehat means heat...

Seen Sabaton live a few times and they're always good fun. Although I'm not too keen on their latest album. My fave was Carolus Rex, Lion From the North is a cracking track!

@ShinyPie I've never seen Sabaton but would love to!

My favourite album that was released this year would have to be FFDP, followed by the Marilyn Manson one. It's not been a great year (obviously), for releases. Are there any albums that have come out this year that anyone's really liked?

State of Deception by Conception and Leaves of Yesteryear by Green Carnation. Both amazing albums.

Carnivore by Body Count too, not the greatest album but just because they're brilliant and I love Ice-T

Rammstein are indeed amazing live (I saw them dl 2016 too and last year at MiltonKeynes).
I’m hoping dl 2021 will be on, not the worst line up. Maybe we should have a meet up there if it is. Let’s just hope it’s a little less muddy than last year!

@Chrimboo - they really are great! I thought the show last year at MK was the best I've ever been to and they were fantastic when I saw them at Download 2013. Fingers crossed for the rescheduled Rammstein and Download next year!
