Chippy tea - what's your order?

Sat on DS2s floor waiting for him to go to sleep and thinking of the chippy tea I'll be having shortly but can't decide what I want. Inspire me with your favourites!

Breaded fishcakes (round here a lot of them are in batter, it's vile), pickled egg, chips, curry sauce.

Small cod, loads of s & v. Scallop batch, again loads of s & v. Can of irn bru.

To share between the 2 of us - 2 fish, 1 chips, battered sausage, mushy peas, curry sauce!

Personally I reckon you can't beat cod and chips.

Here up north it’s chips peas & gravy.

Chips and curry sauce, scraps, lots of salt and vinegar. Dandelion and burdock.

Fish supper with a battered sausage

Haddock, chips, mushy peas and lots of salt and vinegar....old style.

When vegetarian I used to love a deep fried cheese and tomato mini pizza.

Fish, chips, mushy peas. Lots of salt & vinegar & a pot each of curry sauce & gravy for dipping. Sometimes I have Mayo on the side too. 😋

Battered sausage and chips all the way!

Medium cod, chips with lots of scraps, loads of s and v, gherkin, can of rio. Delish.

Either fish, chips and mushy peas or batter sausage, chips and gravy. Tons of salt and vinegar on both. Always with a can of Dr Pepper though.

Chicken shish kebab with garlic sauce and chilli sauce, with lettuce and both cabbages.

Cod, chips and peas with no S&V. Chippies use cheap ‘non-brewed condiment’ instead of proper malt vinegar, so I wait until I get home then add ground sea-salt & Sarson’s.

Chips with battered sausage and a pickled egg- yum. If they do them we share a portion of mushrooms too.

At home, small cod and chips, gherkin, mushy peas and tartare sauce.

Or if near the sea - battered pittenweem prawns, and calamari.

Oh my god so many good options! Chicken shish kebab though? That's not a chippy tea!

Id share a fish or a sausage supper with a side of fritters, picked onion and tomato sauce.

I don’t know if it’s a Scottish thing but a ‘supper’ just means ‘with chips’ , so sausage supper is sausage and chips, fish supper is fish and chips. Just saying in case it’s not a common name out of Scotland.

Are fritters a Scottish thing or does everyone know what they are too - a big slice of potato dipped in batter and fried.

Served with salt and vinegar usually, same as suppers are.

Another vote for chips, mushy peas & gravy. If you could through in some bread & butter too that would be great
