Be honest. Is your tree up?

My street is lit up with decorations and has been for almost 2 weeks now - it's incredible what a handful of houses can do to LIGHT UP THE ENTIRE STREET. Ok, it's a short street, but still.

Three houses have Christmas trees, as far as I can see.

Someone I went to school with has posted photos of her FIVE Christmas trees on Facebook this evening - the woman lives in a bloody flat! I don't know where they're all going.

It's not just me holding out, is it? Hmm

No not yet, mines going up on 30th of November as I'm working the rest of that week, I do think your street is early but 5 trees in a flat? Full sized or smallish table top ones? It must look like Epping Forest in her lounge!

ParkheadParadise · 20/11/2020 21:39

No, my tree is not up yet.
I've seen several houses all lit up for Christmas.
Dd's birthday banners and balloons will be up for her birthday at the beginning of December.
Christmas decorations will not be up until at least the 15th.

Christmasbiscuit · 20/11/2020 21:40

Yep, put it up last weekend.

Yes. I went downstairs last weekend and the 17 year old had put it up at 3am because they were bored !!!

Isadora2007 · 20/11/2020 21:41

No

DramaAlpaca · 20/11/2020 21:42

Nope. It'll be a real tree so won't go up until about a week before Christmas. I might put some lights up in early December to cheer us up though.

Toilenstripes · 20/11/2020 21:44

Next weekend. Can’t wait.

Ilovemycat13 · 20/11/2020 21:45

Yessss!! It’s been a shit year time does not exist!

adawong · 20/11/2020 21:45

Yes in the attic, and it will stay there for another 4 weeks.

MouseholeCat · 20/11/2020 21:47

Yep and weirdly on DH's request- he's normally a scrooge who would wait until 24th December!

I work in a role where I get frequent trend reports from social media companies (Pinterest, Instagram etc) and early Christmas decorating is a big trend this year.

I reckon a lot of people really want something to look forward to as virus cases climb.

pompey38 · 20/11/2020 21:49

Ilovemycat13 -you’ll be eating Easter eggs when Christmas is finally here 😂

justleavemebe · 20/11/2020 21:50

Yes🎄

NeonIcedcoffee · 20/11/2020 21:50

No I think plastic trees are awful and ours would be dead by Christmas so can't put it up.

Ohdoleavemealone · 20/11/2020 21:52

Ours goes up tomorrow!

hiredandsqueak · 20/11/2020 21:56

No I put mine up after dd has finished in school. It's rarely up after New Years Day. About ten days is my limit.

Rememberallball · 20/11/2020 21:57

Mine is ‘up’ - in the attic and, if I have my way, that’s where it’s staying. This year I’m being bah-bloody-humbug!!

Housewoes23 · 20/11/2020 21:58

Yes. Up in the frigging loft Grin

I'm lying. Not lived here long and I dont actually have one.

EasternDailyStress · 20/11/2020 21:58

No. Christmas cards on sale in August, decorations up in November... ridiculous and unnecessary. Just more Facebookesque showing off IMO.

LuckyLuckyWoman · 20/11/2020 21:59

still up in the attic if that counts

Ginfordinner · 20/11/2020 21:59

No.

It isn't Christmas yet.

Not being a huge fan of Christmas I have the tree up for as short a time as I can get away with.

Attictroll · 20/11/2020 22:00

No - not until December

lachy · 20/11/2020 22:00

I'm putting up a little one tomorrow to cheer us up.

Can't put the proper tree up until we know of we'll be moving or not.

Cherrysoup · 20/11/2020 22:00

Crikey, no, haven’t even thought about it yet. We normally wait til school breaks up.

Sadhoot · 20/11/2020 22:01

Teddy1970

There is one full sized tree shoved in the corner. 2 skinny tall trees. One white one (complete with pink decorations!) and maybe a 4ft one? Difficult to tell where they are, but it looks like the living areas.

goldpendant · 20/11/2020 22:02

Nope!

DS birthday marks the start of our festivities on Dec 3rd, nothing too Christmassy until afterwards!

I like it to go up around the 10th, and on a Saturday, so whenever it falls.
