Received a text this morning telling me that he's going for "full custody" of Ds as I've flouted lockdown rules for the second time that he knows of by having a visitors in the house.

He's contacting a solicitor this afternoon.

I.cannot.Stop.Laughing.

My Ds is 18 next week Grin

Oh god, he's such a twat. I really, really hope he does speak to a solicitor this afternoon about custody of someone who will be an adult in ten days time. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that.

I've had thirteen years of this shit since we separated. He's never let up.

(For those interested, in April he was on the phone to Ds. Ds came to ask me something and he had to wait a second while I finished my conversation. His father heard another woman's voice in the room and reported me to the police for having someone in the house. That woman was my independent midwife over for my 28 week check and blood tests).

This time, he was talking to Ds online, the door went and I shouted to Ds to get it as I was changing the baby. He told his dad he just had to open the door for someone. He went mental again, hence the text. Oh and no one came in this time, it was FIL dropping off a some pain meds for Dh, all socially distanced, he dropped them at the door and said hi to ds from the end of the drive. No rules broken either time).

I am currently divorcing my ex. He's already moved the OW into our old house (he has FINALLY bought me out of it though) and he keeps playing silly buggers, putting our DDs in the middle, then lying to everyone and blaming it on me. To the point where his solicitor had to have a little chat with him, (and his mother!) about defamation laws. Last night I was close to crying at the unfairness of it all.

OP, this thread is not heartless. It has given me a much needed laugh, and although I'm sorry that so many other women have also had to put up with these utter cock wombles, I feel slightly reassured I'm not alone. Going to have to bookmark it and re-read next time I feel like screaming at him.

Reply "Great - if your solicitor gets the court order sorted before his 18th Birthday next week, drop me a text and I'll send him over with his PJs in his duffle bag".

Franklydear · 16/11/2020 15:24

@WankPuffins don’t remind him of the birthday, but do inform your son that his father wants custody,
This isn’t insensitive or heartless, but a testimony of how resilient and strong woman are when to be

He’s jealous you’ve successfully moved on with your life.

Ilovecharliecat · 16/11/2020 15:26

please just text him the link to this thread. When I left ex-dickhead and rented a house he told me that his solicitor was looking into him having a key to the house I was renting....I was the only person named on the tenancy agreement, bloody knob! I'm so glad that my kids are now grown up

enjoyingscience · 16/11/2020 15:29

You poor woman, definitely a double celebration once your lovely DS turns 18 and you’re officially free of his nonsense!

I hope you’re crossing off the days on the calendar.

lazarusb · 16/11/2020 15:38

We need these kinds of threads - mine is long over with but there are plenty of people that didn't believe my ex would behave like that (despite him being abusive for many years).

Let's support all the women who are still going through this crap and especially during lockdown. At least we can laugh Flowers

Puddlepop · 16/11/2020 15:38

@WankPuffins you mention the last thirteen years as if they passed in a flash, but that would have meant you’ve been dealing with these things since your son was just five years old! Congratulations to you and DS on his 18th birthday. (On this momentous occasion though, I think you need to fight back , and tell the puffin you’re using some of the maintenance money you’ve squirrelled away over the years to engage a top solicitor to contest his custody demand.)

GabsAlot · 16/11/2020 15:38

my dsis ex is like this with money i mean tells his ds how much maintenance and to find out what is spent on him specifically-unfrotunately ds worships him for reasons i stil dont know mabe because hes a disney dad who buys him stuff he wants and thats all teenagers are interesed in

i hope one day he realises what a twat he really is-oh and he cant afford to see him too much it cost him you know

GabsAlot · 16/11/2020 15:40

oh and happy birthday to your ds

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/11/2020 15:43

@WankPuffins

I have receive the usual "?" Text that I always get when I don't reply to ridiculous texts.

It will be followed in a few hours by "??"

And then probably around bedtime I'll get a "???"

The most he's ever got to was "????????" I remember that as he'd text me some inane nonsense (it was that Ds should have therapy as he may be upset that I was having another child) just as I was arriving at hospital for my section with my now 6 year old. I got the increasing "???" messages when I turned my phone on the next morning Grin

Have you never been tempted to text back with "??" yourself, adding one more question mark than he has?

Just goes to show it is SO hard for a Disneydad to remember his childrens' birthdays :-}

Fishfingersandwichplease · 16/11/2020 15:50

Give so done enough rope and they will hang themselves! What a tool!

WankPuffins · 16/11/2020 15:54

However I have such a good relationship with my teenager - even on their not so great days. Ex does not. What must be really heartening for everyone battling it is this - Children will always figure out who was there, day in day out, and who actually cares for their wellbeing.

@LabradorGalore this is so true. I have a fantastic relationship with Ds as does my Dh (we married when Ds was ten).

For all exh controlling ways and thinking he's 'won' over money, he's lost Ds along the way. Which is so heartbreaking. No matter what I think of him, he's my sons father and I'd hate to think that it's damaged Ds in some way.

There seem to be a lot of them out there. I bet some solicitors have hilarious tales to tell about these completely bonkers men!

I'm sorry to read all these awful stories about dreadful men, but your ex threatening to go for custody over an 18 year old really made me laugh Flowers
