Do you believe in astrology?
What's your primal triad?
Sun-
Moon-
Rising-

ItsGoingTibiaK · 10/10/2020 23:20

The tide is governed by the moon so who knows if the different planets govern other aspects of our lives

People who understand gravity and the inverse square law know...

Qyw16 · 10/10/2020 23:25

@Chickenblc Are people not aloud opinions now Grin

Chickenblc · 10/10/2020 23:30

Yes, and I'm 'aloud' to think those opinions are a crock of shite and that idiots spreading misinformation about a deadly disease on a thread not even about that are a plague to society. Grin

@ Chickenblc Its funny how defensive people get just for having a different opinion. We dont all have to be the same get over yourself love 😂😂

Chickenblc · 10/10/2020 23:35

I'm not defensive I'm angry. Idiots like you get people killed.

ItsGoingTibiaK · 10/10/2020 23:36

Oh look, here comes a conspiracy theorist who believes in astrology and can’t spell implying she has secret knowledge that we’re just not woke enough to understand.

How novel.

Qyw16 · 10/10/2020 23:37

@Chickenblc ohh so now I'm an idiot.Im not saying covid isnt real I'm saying it has been exaggerated

Qyw16 · 10/10/2020 23:39

@ItsGoingTibiaK No love just a dodgey phone keypad. Thanks for your comment tho

Qyw16 · 10/10/2020 23:41

@ItsGoingTibiaK When did I say I believe in astrology.I'm just saying be open minded.

SenorFrog · 10/10/2020 23:54

No I don't believe and find talk of it utterly dull and boring. I don't know my children's star signs and they're both late teens, so I've had plenty of time to check, that horrifies my good friend as she totally believes.

CoffeeInAnIV · 11/10/2020 00:03

Sun - Sagittarius
Moon- Gemini
Rising - Pisces

I didn't believe in astrology until I read my full birth chart and it was undeniably entirely correct. Maybe just a fluke but I have no religion to fall back on for faith and I'm very much still skeptical so it's nice.

nightstarsky · 11/10/2020 00:44

I enjoy reading/listening horoscopes, I find them interesting. I don't rely on them though.

Deathraystare · 11/10/2020 07:40

I don't really, but all the Aries people I know are rather 'typical Ariens' - aggressive, hot tempered and 'always right'. I don't think I am a typical Capricorn - I am not career orientated or good with money (the exact opposite!) but I guess it depends on when you were born or something. I am more like a pig (Chines horoscope).

Obviouspretzel · 11/10/2020 09:00

I don't believe in it, I think it's ridiculous. But the amount of people on threads like this who think that because they know a little bit of established science they have got it all cracked is even more ridiculous.

Part of being intelligent is the acceptance that you actually know very little. It's true that branches of science now are unearthing things that make no sense whatsoever. That doesn't make astrology real, far from it, but some people could maybe do with toning down the arrogance. Maybe they could tone down on the personal insults and the pisstaking about people's grammar while they're at it.

JamminDoughnuts · 11/10/2020 09:04

sun libra
moon taurus
rising gemini

i follow it less than i used to
character wise yes but future predictions not really

NC10101 · 11/10/2020 09:21

In ancient Roman times, they had a festival called Saturnalia (oh look, more planets!) Early on, in certain remote rural areas they would string up a young boy every year as a human sacrifice to speed up the end of winter.

The same sort of people who believe in Astrology now would be back then saying ‘ah, but that has always worked, my mum used to do it as well, there’s more to the world than this ‘science’, we’ve been doing it for hundreds of years, it works you know!’

Thank goodness the rational, sensible people won, I guess, but it’s a shame that there’s still a few kicking around

MagnoliaXYZ · 11/10/2020 10:13

I don't believe in astrology at all. I think it's a load of nonsense. I think people who look at their horoscope or chart or whatever recognise a small, generic statement and see that as representing them accurately. Likewise, if they have read their horoscope or chart or whatnot they might plan their life more like it suggests or be more searching of opportunities (e.g. they're told they will make money at 28 so they startle looking for promotions/new job/business opportunities at that age.

Likewise, I do not believe in religion. I think religion was designed as a form of social control. All religions provide a moral code by which it's followers should live by. It controls people by fear - do bad things and you will go to hell, be reincarnated as a lowly creature etc. It provides comfort to people e.g. being reunited in heaven after death. It is also a good system for people to explain previously unexplainable things. I think the Ricky Gervais film the invention of lying accurately portrays my view on religion.

I think all religions fundamentally are the same, there is even a crossover between several of the major religions. Nowadays though I think religion is divisive and is one of the causes of war or disharmony.

EmpressoftheMundane · 11/10/2020 10:30

Sun - Aquarius
Moon - Taurus
Rising - Aries

I don’t believe in it. My mom was deeply into it. I think natal charts are so complex you can always find something that seems to “fit.”

I will say that Saturn returns and Mercury retrograde sometimes feel real.

Oliversmumsarmy · 11/10/2020 11:50

Horoscopes guide. It isn’t supposed to replace free will.

The person who waits till 28 is missing the point. You can climb the career ladder then at 28 to make a leap forward would be easier

It isn’t there to replace free will.

Broceliande · 11/10/2020 13:17

Each to their own, as long as it's not hurting anyone (including yourself).

My birth chart is unnervingly accurate and it's actually helped me work through some mental health issues; I see it as a map of my predispositions, enabling me to understand a lot more about my reactions to certain situations, but ultimately I'm the master of my own fate and I wouldn't discount a relationship based on mismatched sun signs or anything like that (my partner of nearly twenty years would be quite put out for a start!) And yes, I've also had psychotherapy -- astrology has been, for want of a better term, a very effective complimentary treatment.

I like and respect science, but I've been much happier in myself since I relaxed and learned to go with things that feel right, rather than trying to find a rational explanation for everything.

To answer OPs question, am cancer sun, leo moon, gemini rising. It's hard work!!

gurteee · 12/10/2020 05:06

I was very premature. I was born in June, but supposed to be born in September.

It was your fate to be born in June.

gurteee · 12/10/2020 05:09

How anyone can think that everyone in the world fits into one of those personality types just based on their birthday is utterly beyond me.

It is not just based on your birthday.

Unfortunately, all the sun-sign horoscopes just for fun in magazines make people think this.

gurteee · 12/10/2020 05:20

I find it interesting but I wouldn’t live my life by it. I’m a Leo, classed as being on the cusp, (or I was a Leo until they discovered the new star sign this year) but I wasn’t a typical Leo in my opinion. I definitely do not like being centre of attention and I’m not an extrovert.

Same here as far as sun sign goes...have a look at Vedic astrology. Western astrology was taken from this more ancient system. I believe Vedic to be more accurate.

I got a Vedic chart done/ I'm a cancer sun, Taurus rising instead of a Leo sun, Gemini rising. Feels right to me now Smile

Dozens of other changes too - too much to go into here.
