Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

I made a stew in the slow cooker earlier. It will not be ready until the morning, so I had plain pasta for tea.

QuestionableMouse · 08/09/2020 00:01

I ate a big handful of haribo and feel a bit sick. Too much sugar I think. I need to get a drink of water to balance it out.

I need to buy a new torch but I'm dithering. Needs to be a big bright beam but I don't want to spend a fortune when I'm only using it for walking the dog.

MrsWooster · 08/09/2020 00:04

I made meatloaf today for the first time. I felt very American. The kids liked it-smaller child more than bigger child, unusually.

Frownette · 08/09/2020 00:13

I think I may go to get a snack. My friend got me accidentally wasted at lunchtime as I haven't been to a pub in several years and with COVID-19 it felt like: am I allowed in here? What do I do with mask, on off on off? Am I about to be fined and escorted off the premises?

Snack sounds like the best plan. My afternoon was scuppered. It always seems like such a good idea at the time and happy catching up but then you want to rest.

QuestionableMouse · 08/09/2020 00:39

I really want to go to the cinema.

I got my welcome pack from uni today for the MA I'm doing. I'm feeling pretty nervous.

Frownette · 08/09/2020 02:15

This is enthralling news but...I did accidentally spot my hair straightener a few days ago.15 years old. It was like spotting a relic from the past, I barely remember how to use a hairbrush nowadays.

So yeah I think I'll go wash hair and after it's dried try that Nicky Clarke straightener thing. My hair will be a foot longer, it's not used to anyone noticing it's there, poor little hurrs, so neglected

Time40 · 08/09/2020 02:29

I spent all night making a pair of curtains narrower, but they're such buggers to do that I haven't even got the sewing machine out yet, so I'll have to finish them tomorrow.

Oh, and my green bin also gets emptied tomorrow, so I will have to put some garden waste in it.

Is that all dull enough?

managedmis · 08/09/2020 02:32

DS has Phys Ed tomorrow so he'll be wearing shorts and a t-shirt for school.

We went apple picking at weekend I made a crumble and some apple stew. Very nice.

We went to the skate park this morning then along the bike trails.

I inserted a hyperlink into a Teams invite and am now wondering if the link will work tomorrow...

I bought some Guess? jeans in tkmaxx for £8!!! They fit me perfectly too

Nomnomarrgh · 08/09/2020 05:30

I woke up at 4:30. The smell of my stew is amazing, but I have not eaten any yet. Must sleep.

TartanCurtains · 08/09/2020 07:41

I am about to have two weeks annual leave and have just booked an MOT and service, contact lens check and smear test. I really know how to live.

Spudlet · 08/09/2020 08:10

The smoke alarm battery ran out last night. Why do these things always wait until the middle of the night to start complaining about their batteries?

WouldBeGood · 08/09/2020 08:44

After packing it carefully, DS forgot his PE kit. I had to do a mercy dash in the car to meet him. Bed hair, bare legs and granny glasses.

To add to the excitement they were starting to tar my road, so I had to be back before i was trapped away from my house and thus do a walk of shame in aforesaid ensemble.

I thought I had hit a weightloss plateau, and was getting discouraged, but I have just checked and another pound is off. Its definitely slowing down though. That's 18lbs in all, and I need to lose another 10lbs until I'm back at the top of a healthy BMI and no longer overweight.

I woke up this morning and thought it was the weekend. How disappointed I was to discover it is only Tuesday

pumpkinpie01 · 08/09/2020 10:28

I borrowed my friends carpet cleaner to clean my rug that I left outside for a week 😫

littlecatfeet · 08/09/2020 10:34

My sister sent me a text to say "happy wedding anniversary!"

Husband and I had both forgotten that it was today. Collapsed laughing together over it, which is why we are a good match.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 08/09/2020 11:02

I’ve been up since 2.30 and only had 2 cups of coffee.

DD2 is feeling much better - we’re just waiting for her Covid results then back to school. DD1 has done her school work and is now doing the washing up.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 08/09/2020 11:07

I was given some vouchers for our local department store on my birthday last month. Today I spent some of them on some winter boots. I am very pleased with them - no more school runs in soggy trainers for me Smile

BillywigSting · 08/09/2020 11:20

The new filter for my hoover arrived today (a day late).

I've just rang the company that fitted our new front door last year because it's dropped on one side and is a bastard to lock now.

I need to go into work for my covid swab but it's my day off I don't bloody want to. Will move my butt in a minute.

forgetthehousework · 08/09/2020 11:36

The sun is shining and one of the cars has just gone off to fail its mot.

Gilead · 08/09/2020 11:37

I’m in need of a nap but my bathroom is being tiled so I can’t.

Tonightstheteriyakichicken · 08/09/2020 11:42

Our sunflower is nearly 2 metres tall but disappointingly, not yet blooming.
Beginning to think perhaps it's a magic beanstalk.

Spudlet · 08/09/2020 11:44

I’ve just emailed DS’s class teacher to ask about them needing to wear PE kit all day on PE days. Their kit is shorts and a T-shirt, not sure how that’s going to work in the winter for children walking or cycling to school...? I wanted to ask her yesterday but didn’t get the chance.

My new top arrived for my interview - very pleased with it. I always used to look at the clothes in Hobbs when I was living in London and think that when I was a grownup, I would buy work clothes in there. Not sure I qualify as a grownup and I don’t actually have a job at the moment, but I do have a nice top now 👍

Redshoeblueshoe · 08/09/2020 11:57

I am making a pocket for a jumper. I can't decide whether to trim it with pink or red Confused

BlusteryShowers · 08/09/2020 12:02

I bought one of those Mrs Hinch minky kitchen sponges last week and I quite like it.
