Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I thought we had finally chosen new lights for our guest room, but I've realised the window latches are silver so they won't go after all.

AllNewThings · 27/08/2020 13:18

The cat is on DS's bunk bed and I can't reach her to cuddle her and I need a cuddle.

dementedma · 27/08/2020 13:26

I went for a 5 mile walk and it pissed down and I got completely drenched to the skin.

CMOTDibbler · 27/08/2020 13:32

I am contemplating purchase of a Lakeland heated throw.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/08/2020 13:48

I made myself a hot water bottle and I think I need warm slippers - the floor really is cold.

Deathraystare · 27/08/2020 13:58

I spent 2 hours yesterday tidying my larder. I keep going in to admire it. I've sent the DC in too.

Careful now! That might just be too much excitement for your kids! How old are they? You don't want them bouncing off the walls!

I am just jealous as I wish I had one. With a stall to sit on inside it so I could look at all my purchases! Does yours have one?

pollyhampton · 27/08/2020 14:00

I've had two slices of cheese on toast. On Monday I only had one slice and it wasn't quite enough. Two has made me feel a bit sick and very carby (I don't normally eat a lot of carbs)

FunnysInLaJardin · 27/08/2020 14:02

yay a new thread! Been looking out for it

RightYesButNo · 27/08/2020 14:02

I’m going to see the GP to get prescribed new anti-vomiting meds. Then I’m buying the husband some bananas. I hate bananas.

@lborgia @WitchenKitch For those with onion-y (or garlic-y) ice cubes, this might be too exciting but: homesteady.com/12000433/how-to-get-rid-of-cut-up-onion-smell-in-the-freezer

sproutsandparsnips · 27/08/2020 14:10

I went to Lidl and the fair trade bananas were either too ripe or too green so I had to buy unfair trade bananas.

FunnysInLaJardin · 27/08/2020 14:16

I've got about a kilo of basil leaves to make into pesto. I don't think I've got enough parmesan and so will have to dry the leftover leaves.

The postman has just been and left something in the shed, I was too busy here to go out and meet him.

Now we have a new boiler, I have a larder in the space left by the old boiler. I have my stash of bulk buy food in it and can marvel at the bags of pasta etc while sitting on the downstairs toilet.

ShakerCan · 27/08/2020 14:31

DD’s school skirts fit - hallelujah! There was a brief panic when we thought that I might have ordered the ones that are too long (by 2 whole inches!!!)
Length of school skirts matters a LOT to teen girls apparently.

I’m still considering if I should do the ironing but I’m just not feeling it if I’m honest so I’m sat on the couch with the TV on and reading MN instead.

I need to remember to take my vitamin D as I might actually get some energy then.

peppermintpigs · 27/08/2020 14:31

I have moved all the clothes from the dining room sofa to the hall floor and am pretending this is progress.

elephantoverthehill · 27/08/2020 14:58

It's pouring here so I can't get outside to do the jobs I wanted to do today.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/08/2020 15:02

Have to go out to a doctor's appointment with DS.
I don't want to because it is dreary outside and I'll probably get wet.

Spudlet · 27/08/2020 15:15

I raised my bike seat by half an inch today. I’ve got runners knee (which I think was caused by spraining the opposite ankle in June) so I’m hoping it will make cycling a bit less painful. Running doesn’t hurt it at all, for some reason.

We also fitted a bracket for DS's tag-along bike onto my bike, so now we can swap it between mine and DH’s bike without needing an Allen key and I am all ready to cycle the school run.

WouldBeGood · 27/08/2020 15:20

I’m happy as the six pint milk cartons are back in stock at Sainsbury’s at last.

HorridHamble · 27/08/2020 15:22

I was tired and demotivated so I had a quick shower to wake myself up. It worked.

WhosThatGirl89 · 27/08/2020 15:31

These threads are very soothing.

Dd and I filled a bin bag with both our old clothes and a pile to sell. However Dd is very attached to her old fluffy dressing gowns so will have to sneak those out once she's back at school

Daysofpearlyspencer · 27/08/2020 15:34

I did my covid test but I think I touched my tongue with the swabby end.

forgetthehousework · 27/08/2020 15:51

Finding this thread has made me far too excited.
I'd better have a sit down.

Notbeinghonest · 27/08/2020 15:55

I emailed the council to say my rubbish hadn't been collected for the second week running. I'm just about to have a nice cup of tea.

Igotmylipstickon · 27/08/2020 16:03

The binmen arrived earlier than usual this morning and we didn't have our bin out.

I bought some dental wax for my son in the chemist. Never knew it was a "thing" before.

I'm going to close the window in my office as I'm feeling cold.

BlackberrySky · 27/08/2020 16:09

I have finally decided which tiles to buy for my kitchen.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 27/08/2020 16:12

I have a cold sore and thrush - I’m obviously run down.

DH is cleaning the kitchen, he’s going his music on it’s driving me mad.

DC are allegedly cleaning their room - bribed with £5 each.

I’m laying on the sofa feeling very sorry for myself (I’m unable to do a lot of cleaning due to my illnesses).

DH is making me homemade brownies to have with custard - not sure if that’s too exciting?
