Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I did wonder if "sequel" sounded a bit perky, but decided it was ironic, as we all know nothing is changing here, and we'll all be lucky to achieve a mild frisson at all this talk of fridges and facemasks.

The toddler woke us up by jumping on DH's head. DH took her for a while, but she has been deposited beside me with Peppa Pig and a complimentary coffee so he can get ready for work

I woke up early. I've thought about having a cup of tea or some white chocolate Munchies but instead I'm still lying down

WitchenKitch · 27/08/2020 06:41

I'm glad to hear it isn't only me who is doomed to oniony ice cubes.

Thought the dog had some sort of terrible abscess in his 'armpit', but it's only an allergic reaction. Have just picked him up from the vet, partially shaved and dopey.

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow.

TrufflePioneer · 27/08/2020 06:50

I've woken up with my 3rd headache of the week since Monday. I don't want to take sumatriptan for the third time.

My bathroom smells inexplicably of damp and I can't locate the source.

kemosabeimalone · 27/08/2020 07:01

I ordered the wrong size of secondary school uniform for eldest son and have to send back -was in new born sleep deprived fug and got the age totally wrong!

I used task rabbit yesterday to pick up a Local collection only cot I’d bought on eBay (an hours drive away). It was brilliant and cost much less than a courier / or shiply.

jimboenglish · 27/08/2020 07:13

I left my tea to cool a little before drinking and now it's just that bit too cool, tepid you know?

whatsoccuringnow · 27/08/2020 07:32

I lit the fire for the first morning this year. I've fed the cat and dog as they were annoying me, but it's too early so that means they will be hungry again before this evening.
The bottom half of the fruit bowl went off and I had to throw alot of it out.
My washing machine is back in action after being broke for a week and I've nearly caught up on the washing.
Can you actually contain your excitement over my Thursday morning mutterings?

SpeedofaSloth · 27/08/2020 07:34

Last night just before bed I thought I had lost DS' new school tie, but then I looked for it and I haven't.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/08/2020 08:06

Good morning,
still visiting the cats twice daily for food (them not me) and cuddles.
Very windy here, but dry.

Back to work on Monday.

TSSDNCOP · 27/08/2020 08:07

I spent 2 hours yesterday tidying my larder. I keep going in to admire it. I've sent the DC in too.

CrunchyNutNC · 27/08/2020 08:08

I opened a new bottle of shampoo this morning.

Afwan · 27/08/2020 08:11

Maintenance are due any moment to inspect why our neighbour's cigarette smoke has infiltrated our flat.

MinnieMountain · 27/08/2020 08:11

We're on holiday by the sea (or is that too exciting?).
So far today I've been for a walk on the beach, DH is surfing, DS is watching CITV.

Vix20678 · 27/08/2020 08:15

It's spot clean the hamster day for me.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 27/08/2020 08:15

We're still undecided about our next broadband deal.

In the time we're not deciding we're paying £23 for a basic service + phone (13Mbps) when there are 100Mbps+ services for the same price

ThaGugaBlasta · 27/08/2020 08:17

I'm not sure whether to put a wash on, because the weather forecast says sunny spells and showers all day.

Also thinking about putting the Eufy on the bare mattress, as recommended on the new Eufy parent thread, even if the resulting detritus in the dust collector might stop me sleeping soundly on it ever again.

hamstersarse · 27/08/2020 08:18

I’ve run out of eggs. This means my family have eaten 24 eggs since Monday. With 3 of us that Is an average of 2.66r eggs per person per day.

I’m now wondering about national averages for egg consumption.

ElectiveAffinities · 27/08/2020 08:18

Yesterday I braved the slightly-further-away Waitrose which was our normal supermarket in non-Covid times, rather than the nearer but smaller Sainsbury's which I've been patronising once a week since lockdown began.

The Sainsbury's is quiet but limited in range and especially bad for choice of breakfast cereals. The Waitrose was surprisingly deserted and has Arla BOB milk (good) but no longer stocks Lurpak lightest (bad).

Then I celebrated this non-event of no interest to anyone but me by having my first takeaway coffee from Caffè Nero since March.

MagpiePi · 27/08/2020 08:18

My cat wasn't around as he usually is when I got up, but he turned up about an hour ago, had some breakfast and is asleep on the sofa now.

hamstersarse · 27/08/2020 08:23

Average egg consumption is 1 egg every other day in the UK

I just googled that.

NeedToKnow101 · 27/08/2020 08:24

I was going to take in to work half a slice of toast and marmite that I made yesterday (for a post-commute snack), but I toasted a bagel instead, and brought that in (and through the half-slice of toast away). The bagel has marmite on it too.

LadyLovelyLockz · 27/08/2020 08:30

I've a got a click & collect slot booked for 1.30 this afternoon.

Spudlet · 27/08/2020 08:33

I put name labels onto DS’s water bottles this morning. So he will have a choice of three to take to school with him when I inevitably forget to wash them up.

They are pre-printed ones that came in Comic Sans, unfortunately, so DH is twitching. He is a font fascist.

VainAbigail · 27/08/2020 08:37

Had a shed delivered at the weekend. It sat in bits overnight in my lounge. Husband has built it now, but I’m awaiting doors and the glass panels for said doors. Wondering whether to paint it blue to match the fences, a lighter shade of blue or cream with blue accents?

CormoranStrike · 27/08/2020 08:37

Today I have three washings to do
