Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I need to go to the Library to scan something today

20viona · 27/08/2020 10:54

I'm debating whether my one year old sleeps better in or out of her sleeping bag.

Borka · 27/08/2020 11:29

@WouldBeGood that's my back-up plan!

ThaGugaBlasta · 27/08/2020 11:29

I don't want to raise the excitement level of the thread too high but
AlCalavicci is right: Eufying the mattress was wonderful and awful. Not just the amount of gunk that came out, but watching the Eufy potter perilously close to the edge then reverse herself back in a series of 28-point turns. Pure magic.

(Disclaimer: lockdown has lowered my excitement threshold dramatically.)

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/08/2020 11:43

There are poster ads for Finnish gin opposite my front door.
I am tempted ...

Sunbird24 · 27/08/2020 12:01

I think I may have slightly under-hydrated my couscous for my lunch, but I’ve already added the tuna so I’ll just eat it anyway

Twospaniels · 27/08/2020 12:04

I used up some wool that I don’t like and learnt a new stitch.

YorkshireIndie · 27/08/2020 12:23

Can I join? I have just spent £80 at H&M on clothes for DS. These are mainly for nursery/childminder. I don't have the heart yet to say how much I have spent to DH

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 27/08/2020 12:29

I think I will need to weed the front garden later.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 27/08/2020 12:32

Hello! Thank heavens for this thread, an oasis of sanity 😊
Far too much excitement here this morning, first trip to the garden centre since February AND had a coffee and pastry there 😋
Feel like a lie down now....

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/08/2020 12:37

I'm waiting for Nigel to arrive in his onion van.

peppermintpigs · 27/08/2020 12:38

I found the last edge piece of the jigsaw.

Redshoeblueshoe · 27/08/2020 12:43

I went to the library today and got a book out.

Akire · 27/08/2020 12:46

I beat my personal best favourite jigsaw time from 43min to 41.

TurkeyTrot · 27/08/2020 12:51

We've run out of Pringles.

champagneann · 27/08/2020 12:53

I have heated up some vegetable and lentil soup for my lunch. DP has just made himself a bacon sandwich. I think we should swap lunches.

BarkandCheese · 27/08/2020 12:54

I got a parking ticket even though I’d paid using the automated phone system 😡. I’m challenging it.

Deathraystare · 27/08/2020 13:01

I had a lovely veggie brekkie in the cafe, went to the market and got lots of vegs and goodies (curry paste, coconut cream chillies, Columbian passionfruit (the golden ones - our Columbian porter is jealous cos they don't stock them at his local place!!! Will have to buy some for him next week).

Going to a friends place on Sunday - our bookclub group are meeting but doubt we will discuss much in the way of books. It is that sort of a bookclub!

Deathraystare · 27/08/2020 13:03

We've run out of Pringles.

An evil friend got me hooked on these again. I eat them in an afternoon so am not allowing them any more!

drumandthebass · 27/08/2020 13:07

Just had some coconut and raspberry jam cake

FaffingForEngland · 27/08/2020 13:07

DH left the shampoo upsidedown in the shower. The lid is broken so it leaked in the shower tray. I liked that shampoo.

Our cat has nearly finished his antibiotics.

Deathraystare · 27/08/2020 13:08

Oh! Just before you cannot contain your excitement much longer - I forgot to say , in the market is a cafe where I got an ice cream. Sort of like Mr Whippy but a bit sweeter so sadly not like the 'real thing'.

I used to work an ice cream machine, I'll have you know. For three weeks in October! The worst part was cleaning it out. I t was two parts vanilla to one of Cornish before you ask....

BwanaMakubwa · 27/08/2020 13:11

The school uniform basics I picked up in Tesco on Tuesday still have the security tags on them. I will have to pop back in and persuade them that I didn't steal it later today.

BwanaMakubwa · 27/08/2020 13:13

Also my son, who is about to start sixth form college, begged me for sludge green corduroy trousers yesterday. They arrive on Saturday and he is enormously excited. I do fear that he is an anachronism.

SilenceOfThePrams · 27/08/2020 13:16

I went to a not very local farm shop for the first time since March.

The car park was very busy, but strangely, there was only one other person in the queue to go in.

So I stood my distanced distance behind them, was ushered by visor-wearing attendant through the sanitising station (gel, gloves, wipe for the trolley), turned to go into the shop, and then realised the queue was behind me but stretched in the opposite direction. 20 people all glaring at me for cutting in.

I shopped.

But I couldn’t enjoy it very much.

But they had Malteser slice, so now I don’t care any more.
